Sierra Chest 2 development
Added 2016-02-26 18:00:38 +0000 UTCGreetings!
Although the addition of new game entries has slowed down the past 2 weeks, I've had (and still have) my hands full with other developments, mostly related to Sierra Chest 2: Legacy of the Half-Dome.
Sierra Chest 2 is being built with Zend Framework, using Bootstrap, so it will finally be on par with modern websites, be accessible on mobile devices and boast a brand new community section where members can compile their own collection, access forums, upload screen caps, box art and more. I'm pretty much a novice with this kind of website development, but thankfully I'm backed up by a professional programmer to make sure it turns out exactly how I want it to be. Here's an early preview to give you an idea:

So, yes, the current (ugly) parchment menu goes out and will be replaced by a nicely organized horizontal menu with drop-downs, providing easy access to each section of the site with a single click.
I've also upgraded the publications section in the Chest and added a bunch more magazines to it. At this point all Sierra News Magazines and catalogs are in it, page by page, and most of them with tags to directly access the pages of the developers, people and games mentioned in the articles. I've done it in a way that it can be imported directly in Sierra Chest 2, so I avoid double work.

I've also create a page with a listing of Sierra trailers and recorded a bunch more to bring the total to around 120 trailers. Also this page will be carried into Sierra Chest 2, but you can already enjoy the videos themselves if you like:

More updates coming soon!
