Based the Classic Castle on the mess of bricks that is the Castle from World 8 in SMB1.
That Piranha plant, if it had been in color, would have been green with yellow specks, because this is set in SMB1.

In the sketch, I had originally drawn Bob-ombs to man the cannons, but then remembered there are no Bob-ombs in SMB1. Woopsie! Replaced them with Buzzy Beetles.
