I had started recovery from alcoholism at the time of reading and I felt like Cujo. Wishing to have been good boy too but destroying mine and everyone’s life instead. In a metaphor his rabies to him was and is like alcoholism for me. It’s not just Cujo's family or mine, it's everyone in our path. Come to think of it, King bled out his nose from coke and Cujo bled from the nose when bitten by the bat that sealed his fate.
