September Episode Four - The Deliverance

Another possession movie in 2024?! Could it be?! Or is this just a hoax like the "true" stories most possession movies are based on?! Welp, folks, this is real! Check out our review of YET ANOTHER possession romp: The Deliverance!

On the Cat People one, I did find it jarring cause I never heard it before but I put that with the pile of his Ennio Morricone flips, and other movie scores he's used. For the Foxy Brown Holy Matrimony use, Max is literally in a Sam Goodie in present day, which I'll Na Na came out in 96' and was playing in the store. That's how my brain accepted those.

I said it was close , at the end of my comment . If that's what you're commenting on.

Michael Smith

Megalopolis was a whopper indeed! If they don’t do a full episode on it I’m sure we’ll hear at least one of their takes on it.

KT1000

Megalopolis is buckwild nonsense, would be fun to hear Joe & Pat crucify it... Plus you gotta see Shia LaBeoufs slutty little eyebrows

Dogliani

I haven’t seen it but surely they must talk about that lady getting pooped on.

KT1000

Kinda surprised y’all boys didn’t say you’d be doing Megalopolis. Not since Siskel and Ebert have I cared so much about whether or not two critics felt the same way as me about a film

KT1000

Hey "Cuckoo" was Cooool! Finally one that was worth the wait 👍

Dirk Overton

Anyone else watch the new Netflix Vince McMahon documentary? It’s good. I’m endlessly fascinated by that dude. Pat and Joe reviewing it would be really cool 😎

Raffi N

My (probably wrong) theory about the Tom Petty covers: the first couple I heard on the show, I was thinking "This is probably what a Key West cover band thinks a boorish American tourist listens to", so maybe it was a silly dig at that? Edit: Joe, if you want to feel like your 8-year old self again (but still enjoy as an adult), check out The Aquabats! Super Show! They're a rock band that moonlights as inept out-of-shape superheroes, fighting low-budget monsters every week. Lots of cool cameos, too.

Chuck Shartz

I have to swing by and recommend Gravity Falls, which is kind of similar vibe.

Logan Dotson

Movie was bad. Glenn Close was great, gloriously over the top and camp.

Larkin Hill

Slap shot is the shit, i still got my Hanson Jersey

Marko

I turned off the deliverance 5 min in, i don’t think we watched the same movie: that dinner scene terrible and Glenn close is equally as terrible

RadPipBoy88

I mean…pretty close is it not?

Maxwell Ashcroft

They're opening complaint that there's already a movie called 'Deliverance' is funny since the movie they're reviewing is called , 'The Deliverance' , NOT the same title . Close , no cigar .

Michael Smith

Pat says all references don’t need to be current, but Pat also had a lot to say about the girls from Ben heads using a Tom Waits song

Chris Goodnight

I agree, also Cannibal the Musical is easily one of the best things they've ever made imo

Dogliani

"Because the Beans & Guacamole are sure at it again"

Dogliani

Baseketball is such an awesome flick. Too many good stupid laughs

Nick Gonzalez

Over the garden wall is one of my favorites! I didn't know about the claymation coming out. That's exciting!

Melanie St.George

The song in the trailer for Salems Lot is, famously, what Joe parodied and workshopped on a previous episode. “Bung Sound, I’m gonna break wind”

Ryan Thomson

The petty covers are not true to form, they sung by a woman and played with acoustic instruments
