I was so convinced by his skewering, that I too hated the song. Then he opens this episode with a bombshell… that he actually likes the song now?! Wow. Still love ya, Pat. Hilarious and charming as always :)

I would have resorted to option C if the ice story happened to me, but in my experience, people don’t react in good humor to such a surprisingly outrageous situation. That being said, if my date didn’t react well to a silly joke after the crazy ice pants, I would have to defer to option D.

I’m starting to become discouraged from being in the romantic/dating world at all and it’s for many of the reasons you laid out here. So often it’s a lose-lose situation where both parties are disappointed. So you focus on yourself for a while and improve your focus, goals, motivation. Only to realize how little that all means if no one else is there to see or care about it- just loneliness.
