2023-08-10 08:09:18 +0000 UTCNot really a fan of the franchise. I love the first one and enjoyed Fallout but I mostly find these pretty boring. Ethan Hunt just isn’t a very compelling character. I actually liked when they gave him a back story in MI:3 and they tried to do some of that here but it just didn’t work. The stunts are awesome but it’s just not enough to carry the rest of the film.

I worked with his manager for a couple of years; Henry's a really nice guy and super talented. I haven't seen the movie, but I hope he was well utilized in the story and delivered a solid performance.

2023-08-08 14:04:33 +0000 UTCAs a HUGE fan of this franchise, and someone who agrees that this is the worst of the franchise, I'd love to add some detail about the stunts. MI movies reveal one stunt in marketing and leave one or two surprises for opening night... For example, we knew Tom would hang off the side of the plane and then we also got some motorcycle stunts. We knew Tom was going skydiving and then he flew a godammed helicopter. The secondary stunts in this installment were so underwhelming I bet you didn't even clock them as big stunts. They filmed principal actors on top of a moving train (which we've seen a million times... Michelle Yeoh even has an amazing wire assisted stunt landing a motorcycle on a train) and they choreographed a sequence suspended vertically in the air. I hope they saved the action for the second part.

They literally put all their chips on a new person who has no idea what they're doing impersonating that lady doing the deal, and then the guy doesn't do the mask check lmaoooo 😆
