I’m probably way younger than you bc I didn’t really fully get into them until I was out of high school around 2011, and then I became a super fan. They rule so hard. I’ve seen them a few times, the best one being in December 2014 at Webster Hall in NY. The touring lineup at the time was Billy, Jeff and Mark Stoermer of the Killers and Brad Wilk from RATM. I get why anyone would be annoyed w Billy, he’s got a massive ego and is extra pretentious but I’m a diehard Corgan apologist ‘til the end despite the increasingly diminishing returns. That’s okay though, the dude brought the power and magic big time in his prime and the cool thing about SP is that they literally have several dozen b-sides and harder to find tracks that I discover every year or two that blow me away just the same as their top tier albums and known songs have.

I think some of your opinions regarding the sequel trilogy and what could have been would change. Reading that, it’s clear that there WAS an overarching theme and plan for the franchise that Disney scrapped in a knee-jerk bid to please angry fans. If you can still find it online, it’s absolutely worth the couple hours spent reading it. As a life-long Star Wars fan, I thought it was fantastic. Would love to know your thoughts.
