Ever seen a movie about Banshees that wasn't meant to be spooky? Well, we have! And this is it! Also in this ep: REX REED'S REVIEW of & Juliet. Now that's scary!

Avatar is close to crossing over 2 billion yet I hear no one talking about it or know anyone im who’s seen it. It’s like people go because of the hype and that’s it. No one talks about it because it was boring

Banshees was pretty funny but also kind of an odd movie. I get that it’s a tragedy too but is it supposed to be absurdist also? The dude chops off his fingers and is at the pub the same day “playing” the fiddle with his new students, while nobody is acknowledging the insanity of this man Anyway, it’s funny, Farrell and the young drunk kid made me laugh a lot, I just did not get that strange finger chopping part of it.

I work at LAIKA as a media services specialist and helped coordinate and QC the Coraline 4k transfer with SHOUT factory. Loved hearing Patty's thoughts on the project! Keep your eyes peeled for Kubo on 4k next February. These stop motion 4k transfers are something else

I LOVED the Banshees of Ed Sheeran. Once you realize it’s a metaphor for the Irish civil war of 1923, everything kinda seems brilliant like that Parasite movie. Go ahead and Wikipedia the Irish civil war and their war against the English right before it. Then everything makes sense like the whole policeman character represents the oppressive English-funded north Ireland government forces. Gleason would rather hangout with the psycho policeman than his old friend Farrell. Could be wrong, but I like it.

Django Unchained was good , but Jonah Hill pulling off his hood as a Klan rider almost took me out of the entire movie. Unnecessary casting.

Love Overhated!! Was great when I popped on the FGF episode and saw you were on it. Man I wish 80’s All Over would have kept going. Such a great podcast.

Joe did a great job explaining that overarching metaphor, but I really hated this movie for much of what Pat said fwiw

Ian

Glad Joe went second cause Pat almost convinced me that the movie is bad
