2022-08-26 12:56:00 +0000 UTCI do agree that the Michael Wincott character was corny and served no purpose. Kind of like Brody is Jaws or Muldoon in Jurassic Park but agreed, kind of sucked. When he recites that poem as they are devising the plan, made me cringe.

2022-08-20 16:26:21 +0000 UTCThis movie was great. I think the Jaws comparison is apt. The themes of man trying to tame nature for entertainment/wealth are similar. And that’s seen in both the chimp tv show and the ranch show. Balloon popping sets off the chimp, alien and similar to how they kill the shark in Jaws. There were some plot holes and certainly not a “horror” movie but enjoyable. I do feel like Joe and Pat may have missed some things here. Hope they revisit because I do think they’d enjoy it.

2022-08-20 15:57:24 +0000 UTCThis might sound fucked up, but I enjoyed NOPE a lot because it didn't rely on white people for any of the roles; except for the crazy ego-maniac, of course. Also, the payoff of getting to see the "phenomena" from every angle was pretty great.

2022-08-12 19:25:34 +0000 UTCYoung Steven Yeun was looking at the shoe sticking up(bad miracle or whatever they said) so he wasn’t looking at the chimp when the chimp noticed him. Then the table cloth obscured his eyes. So he was accidentally obeying the animal rules, giving Steven Yuen the false sense of connection with beasts or whatever so he thought he could exploit the alien for money
