I can't remember a movie that felt so insulting towards the viewer. I woke up still pissed. Listening to the podcast today was great to here their takes. I don't think I'll finish it.

2022-01-11 23:32:26 +0000 UTCI didn’t think this was terrible but definitely not good-and the worst of the series. Some of the meta commentary was interesting and clever but did anyone else notice how sloppy the action was? And this may be trite but Keanu is a horrible actor.

I hated this movie, it was complete garbage and I think the straight to streamers is the death of good movies. Just like Netflix there is no quality control or barometer for quality and then critics just boost it up and force feed us advertisements of these movies through our closed teeth. Even worse, because studios were so worried about losing money on these things they push back anything worth watching in the theater, like Black Phone, so they can capitalize on their earning potential. I mean I get it, they can’t be losing money but they are killing the art. This lack of quality is going to continue for another year and by the time we get out of this we will have forgotten what good movies are or can be. This is why I value the movie corner segments so much, because it gives me older things to watch that are actually good and dont take up 3 hours of my time. God bless criterion for putting out interesting blu rays and thank you guys for watching them and getting us excited about it. This last year Criterion and Shout Factory! Have gotten all of my money because they have content worth watching. Thank you guys so much for doing this, I wait for these things to come out and then I burn through them so quickly I almost get mad at myself for not savoring them. But like a good PTA movie these episodes are always so much fun to revisit. Happy New Years fellas, this podcast has to be my favorite monthly investment. Appreciate you guys keeping me sane.
