Season 0: Theme Keycard #1 C3: Sworn to the Light
Added 2025-01-03 17:37:26 +0000 UTCA/N: I've learnt to make playable Custom Card in Edopro, and I can't be prouder of my first creation. This card will be featured in this story. It's completely functional for YGO Pro and EdoPro as well, so I'll upload it to my Discord when it's time. You guys can download the card and play with it if you want. There'll be quite a few Custom Cards for both Lenix and the other characters—Judai included. Stay tuned!
With a wave of his hand, the tiny cube, pulsing as if collapsing and expanding all at once, multiplied with satisfying pops to form a Duel Disk.
Or at least, that's what Lenix called it.
It looked more like a cluster of shifting, floating, trippy Rubik's Cubes with mystical symbols pulsing across their surfaces every few seconds.
“Draw!” Lenix commanded, and from the largest cube, black and red particles erupted like a ruptured oil line, coalescing into five cards encased in bulky sleeves of the same alien material.
“Would you look at that,” Lenix chuckled, “They even come with privacy sleeves.”
Useful, certainly, but the whole setup was far too flashy.
Fortunately, TranStar Industries seemed to have anticipated this, since the Duel Disk came with a shapeshifting option also!
It wasn't just a Duel Disk, no!
It could be a gun, a sword, even a spear!
It was the coolest thing Lenix had ever seen! Well, besides the holographic technology which enabled Duel Monsters to begin with, of course. “Model: Battle City Alpha.“
The cubes rearranged themselves, solidifying into a form almost indistinguishable from a standard Duel Disk, albeit with a more angular, Duel Evolution redesign. There were still a few kinks to work out.
Every so often, the Duel Disk would lose its solidity and become misshapen before all the particles and cubes snapped back into place, but the abnormalities were fleeting enough to be dismissed as a mere trick of the light.
Lenix flicked the Duel Disk—once, twice, thrice—and the organic device, almost… Sentient in its responsiveness, trilled back.
He’d spent the entire night exploring its functions, and managed to uncover a whole host of interesting features.
Beyond its limited “Shapeshifting,” its independent database and energy source which absorbed the excess DE a Duelist passively exuded, plus the various utility and “quality-of-life” options the Vorona-1 Duel Disk came preinstalled with, he had also unlocked several “hidden stats.“
Five shiny new stats now blinked below the usual information: Level, EXP, Duel Energy, Bonded Spirits and Spirit Enhancement(s) / Skill(s).
It did not take a genius to figure out their functions. Level was directly tied to his DE—the mystical energy that fueled a Duelist's Spirit Skill(s), which included the infamous Destiny Draw.
EXP was dependent on the strength of his opponents.
Spirit Enhancement(s) were primarily passive, cost-free abilities that boosted a Duelist to peak, and potentially even superhuman, levels. Finally, and arguably the most important, was the Bonded Spirits section.
It not only tracked Lenix's progress with Duel Spirits that had taken a liking to him but also featured a button below which let him choose between and then activate either Conjuration or Installation Mode.
The first, Conjuration, was relatively straightforward.
He'd seen plenty of antagonists summon monsters that acted far beyond the capabilities of mere holographic projections.
Conjuration brought Duel Monsters back to its roots, allowing a Duelist to manifest their Duel Spirits like Stands by channeling their DE.
This meant Duel Spirits weren't bound by the game's limitations, and depending on their lore, certain monsters could potentially display abilities beyond their card effect(s), or even use those effects without the drawbacks put in for balancing purposes.
Take his Phoenix, for example. If "Conjured" this way, Nephthys could resurrect even if she was destroyed in battle, and not just by card effects—which, in this context, encompassed all Spells and similar interferences.
It was a far cry from the children's card game Lenix's generation had grown up with.
Another good example would be Exodia.
In the game, summoning him would have resulted in an automatic win for Yugi's grandpa. But without those constraints, Zorc had effortlessly overpowered the Forbidden One. The UNSTOPPABLE EXODIA(!) wasn't so unstoppable, after all.
Then there was Installation Mode, which allowed Lenix to essentially "equip" a Bonded Spirit to himself, merging with its power.
The catch, of course, was Installation's heftier DE cost compared to Conjuration, demanding a 10% surcharge based on the Conjuration cost, which was calculated as follows: (Level × 100) + (Number of Effects × 100) + (Combined ATK and DEF / 10) per second.
A… Fair tradeoff, all things considered, but it also meant maintaining Installation: Hand of Nephthys] alone, for just a single second would drain from him 462 Units of DE, 42 more than Conjuration.
While seemingly insignificant, a single second could mean the difference between life or death, and since the Handmaiden was a Spellcaster who's not exactly known for her physical prowess to begin with, all she could lend him was magical abilities or Spells that also required DE.
As for the Sacred Phoenix herself, Lenix hadn't even thought about it.
He'd maxed out at a frankly paltry 700, while she already demanded a hefty 1430 Tribute upon Installation.
The only reason it wasn't 1540 instead was because the Phoenix's effect was counted as a single ability that comprised two parts, and her board-clearing's considered a “consequence” of her resurrection.
Things weren't all bad, however.
Every 10% of Bond Progress with a Spirit granted him a Spirit Enhancement or Skill, similar to Destiny Draw. Furthermore, Lenix had five monster zones, meaning he could simultaneously bond with up to five Spirits at once and accumulate strength through their passive Enhancement(s).
The only real downside was the limitation on high-Level monsters.
Bonding with Level 5 or higher required tributing the necessary monsters at 100% Bond Progress, forcing him to recultivate the bond if he wanted to access their full power. The process didn't reset a Spirit's memory or affection, thankfully, so progress would climb faster on subsequent bonds, but it was still an inconvenience.
Lenix theorized that his bond with Nephthys stemmed from her being his "ace," the Dark Magician to his Yugi.
“Duel Energy and Bond Progress…” Mumbling to himself, he bolted upright on the bed.
Both required dueling—a shit ton of. Through duels, Lenix could expand his DE Pool, and accelerate Bond Progress since Duel Spirits, the vain and bloodthirsty creatures they were, thrived on battling alongside their Duelists and being useful overall.
“Well then, let's hit the street.“ Behind him, the faint silhouettes of a slender young woman and a giant, fiery birb both trilled in excitement as they headed to the door. “Ladies first.“
Domino City buzzed with its usual energy, the air thick with the shouts of Duelists summoning their monsters.
Occasionally, a lucky player would swiftly dominate, but most duels stretched through a satisfying 15 to 20 turns as God intended.
This was a slower meta… A purer era where Link and Pendulum Summoning were blessedly absent, and each summon required setup and genuine strategic thought, a refreshing change from the modern players and their unhealthy obssession with turn-1 Special Summon spam.
And thankfully, no Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon, because fuck that Archetype in particular.
Staring at the scene, Lenix's heart thumped loudly in his chest.
The thrill of his first duel still left Lenix slightly lightheaded.
Every so often, the thought would flicker through his mind: What if this is all a coma dream? What if none of this was real, and he's currently on a hospital bed? But Lenix would quickly dismiss it.
Even if it were a dream, why would it matter to him?
He was happy, healthy, and playing his favorite game on a scale far grander than any Konami-sponsored tournament!
Really, what more could someone—anyone possibly want out of life?
Lost in thought, Lenix nearly stumbled into oncoming traffic.
A tug on his jacket snapped him back to reality, just as Nephthys and her Handmaiden fixed him with identical glares.
He offered a sheepish grin in return.
Lenix had sensed their warning, but due to the weak bond they shared, the Spirits' communication was limited to strange noises their Duelist couldn't quite decipher. Luckily, the stranger's intervention had spared him from being hospitalized.
Imagine getting transported to your dream anime world, only to get taken out by a traffic accident on day two…
How embarrassing would that be?
“Excuse me! Are you alright?"
He turned to find a girl behind him... An oddly ordinary Japanese girl.
Her hair was neither styled, nor colored differently, her figure neither exaggerated nor underwhelming. “Average in every way,” would be the best description.
The only unusual feature was the Duel Disk strapped to her wrist, though even that wasn't so strange in this world. “… Are you the main heroine?”
“I-” She stuttered. “I don't follow?“
“Yeah, I think not." Humming a tune beneath his breath, Lenix chuckled. "Sorry 'bout that. Thanks for, well, you know. Almost went splat on the asphalt there. You wanna get a drink? On me.“
“Ah, if it's not too much trouble, could you give me a few advices?“
Showcasing her pink Duel Disk, she smiled nervously. “I'm new to Duel Monsters, and since you carry a Duel Disk, I was wondering…"
“If I can teach you a thing or two? Sure. I do owe you my life and all."
They shared a laugh and soon found themselves in a highly-regarded café close by. It was a Duel Monster cosplay café where all the waitresses dressed as monsters from the game. Harpy Lady? Dark Magician Girl? Celtic Guardian?! Zorc the Dark Master?!! Name it, and you’d find it there!
Neither Nephthys nor her Handmaiden seemed particularly thrilled by the sudden and overwhelming female presence surrounding their Duelist, but whether due to indifference or sheer obliviousness, Lenix hadn't seemed to notice. Sipping his black coffee topped with whipped egg yolk, Lenix licked his lips clean before entering interrogation mode.
The switch in attitude was jarringly abrupt as he fired off a barrage of questions.
"So, what type of deck are you hoping to make? Is there a theme to it? An ace? A certain Archetype you want to main, perhaps? Is it Control, Aggro, Combo? Maybe a Hybrid? Personally, I like Floodgate, but a Hybrid can be really fun too! Combo's pretty awesome, although it's not exactly supported by the meta at the moment. I've heard of Stun-Decks, but wouldn't know the first thing about the—"
"Wait, wait, wait! I don't even know what half those words meant!"
Blinking owlishly, Lenix scratched his nose and grinned. "Sorry, it's been a while since I last talked to anyone about dueling."
"You seem really passionate about it." She observed.
"Why wouldn't I be? Look around, woman! We're hurling fantasy and sci-fi monsters at each other for battle! Literal wars are being fought with the device strapped to your wrist! Everyone and their grandma should thank God for its invention!"
He refrained from mentioning Duel Spirits and all that nonsense.
Even though it was practically an open secret by now, she was just an ordinary person, with DE fluctuations even weaker than Takimaru's.
It was in her best interest to stay far, far away from the dangers of the Shadow Duel, or so Lenix thought.
Whether he was right or not remained to be seen.
“A-Alright? I'm not sure what my deck is, but here..." Lenix did not hesitate as he accepted the offered deck, freezing on the spot when he caught the snarling white wolf on a card—the Lightsworn Hunter. "Oh? Akane-san, did you pick this deck, or did someone recommend it to you?"
"I was told it's a new, limited Archetype. This is the basic Structure Deck they offered, and I thought the artwork looked really cool, so... Is it bad?" The girl cringed, as if expecting him to openly mock her.
"No, not at all. In fact, it's one of the few Archetypes I quite like."
It had been considered a Tier 0 back in the day. And even with the advent of XYZ, Pendulum, and Link Summoning, it was still one of the few Tier 1 Archetypes with competitive viability and solid support. Whoever suggested to her the Lightsworn did an excellent job. "Lightsworn is pretty straightforward to play, so it's a great deck for beginners—really powerful, with a strong ramp and extremely aggressive mid to late-game."
Giving the timid girl a quick once-over, Lenix chuckled.
"Who knows, it might work wonders for your character development."
"... Excuse me?"
“Ah, nothing. Let's get started. The first thing you'll need to know is the card types: Monster, Spell, and Trap, each of which is further divided into smaller subcategories we'll get into later."
He started by explaining the difference between normal and effect monsters, patiently waiting for her to speak. "So… some monsters have additional effects, and I should focus on those more than just ATK and DEF?"
"Exactly. Lower-level effect monsters often provide the fastest way to summon powerful boss monsters, or they have individual effects that can get you out of a tough spot." Lenix began to cite, "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole, the entire D.D. archetype, Dark Grepher, and so on. But that doesn't mean all effect monsters are good. The Lightsworns, fortunately, are far more refined.“
"I still don't get it," She started with a frown. "How can discarding cards be a good thing?"
"It's good because of these." Sliding Wulf, Lightsworn Beast, and Judgment Dragon across the table, Lenix explained. “Wulf can be Special Summoned when he's milled from the deck. He doesn't have any other effect, but the guy's still a 2100 ATK beatstick you can get on the field with relative ease. I suggest putting three copies of the guy in your deck. It's not unheard of for Lightsworn main to get unlucky and draw him. With three copies, even if your draw were bad, it's not unrecoverable. As for Judgement Dragon…”
Scratching his chin, Lenix considered for a moment. "Three copies sounds good, as long as you have a way to discard him when needed. Personally, I recommend Graceful Charity," Because this world did not have a banlist, only a limited list. It did make sense, since if the Egyptian God Cards worked as they did in the anime, Kaiba would likely be forced to ban his Obelisk for being a major meta-breaker.
"Card Destruction, Morphing Jar, Morphing Jar #2, Cyber Jar—any Spell or Trap that lets you discard and draw is beneficial. Hell, if your deck isn't too bloated already, consider tossing in a copy of Pot of Avarice as well, just in case you fail to finish your opponent that turn."
The girl furrowed her brow, her voice thick with confusion as she questioned. “But Wulf can only be Special Summoned if he's discarded from the deck, and Judgment Dragon doesn't have any graveyard effects either. What good is discarding from my hand?"
"Discarding from your hand to draw new cards is always good, regardless of your deck or situation. Let me put it this way: You have drawn three copies of Judgment Dragon, and you have three different Lightsworn monsters in your graveyard. One more, and you can Special Summon three 3000 ATK beaters to your side of the field! Sadly, luck isn't on your side that day for whatever reasons. you haven't drawn any other Lightsworn monsters except Lightsworn Angel.
And you have no fodders to Tribute Summon her. What you do have is—" Lenix paused and demanded. "Drumroll, please!"
To her credit, Akane played along wonderfully, slapping the table with as much enthusiasm her .
"Graceful Charity!" Lenix declared. "Now you can discard Celestia to Special Summon all three Judgment Dragons! Plus, you get three brand new cards—three new possibilities! You might draw Raigeki, Swords of Revealing Light, Mirror Force, or even Dark Hole! You get the idea?"
“Uhm!" Grinning, the girl cradled her Lightsworn cards like a mother hen with her chicks. Then, pointing at his Duel Disk—his Deck specifically, she asked, "Can I see yours?"
"Sorry," Lenix replied, "But the only way anyone sees my Deck is by dueling me."
"Hmmm. Stingy."
Akane pouted, but was more than ready to take on the challenge in her hype. "Then let's duel. I want to see how my Lightsworns hold up against your…"
"Phoenix. I main Phoenix. Let's head out then. We can't very well duel in here, can we?"
"Actually!"
A snotty voice piped up from behind them. "You can, customers! Our boss wanted to create the ultimate dueling environment, so there's a courtyard out back specifically for duels. There's even a huge, HUGE discount for Duelists who put on a good show for the other customers!" Already buried in debt to Grandpa Muto, Lenix practically dragged the girl along, all while marveling at the shop owner's ingenuity.
It was a smart move, really, creating a dedicated and pleasant dueling space where everyone could potentially profit.
Such designated areas were truly rare this early in the timeline.
Most duels ended up taking place on the street.
"Come on, I've been dying for a duel all day."
Just as the waitress had said, there really was a courtyard deeper in the building, complete with a marble stage and creeping vines that draped down from the walls and the skydome above.
Two pairs were already tag-dueling on the stage by the time the two arrived.
"That spot's open!" Rushing to the freed up space giddily, Lenix left the girl on one end, and took up the other. Wrist raised, he cackled. “DUEL!“
His excitement was tempered by the fact his opponent was a complete novice. It wouldn't be a particularly glorious or honorable victory, but at this point, he was starved. Starved for the thrill of competition. Starved for the joy of the game. He was 'starved' of dueling.
“D-Duel…?“

His opponent responded hesitantly, and as she announced her readiness, their Duel Disks whirred, generating a virtual coin. "Tails!" Lenix called, and as luck would have it, it landed heds-up.
"I-I'll go first, if you don't mind!“
Looking at his hand, Lenix's lips twitched.
He hadn't expected to brick this hard on his first duel of the day, but it wasn't completely unsalvageable.
'You two are picking a really poor time to be upset at me…'
"I activate the Continuous Spell 'Lightsworn Sanctuary!'"
Akane announced, and where the once shy and timid girl had been, now stood someone who actually resembled a proper Duelist. 'Good for her.'
The card's first effect allowed her to discard a Lightsworn from her hand to retrieve a different one from her Graveyard.
The second effect put Shine Counters on the Sanctuary for every Lightsworn milled—Counters that could protect her monsters from card effect destruction. It was a powerful card in an already potent Archetype.
Lenix could only hope she didn't already have Lumina or Solar Recharge in hand, or he'd be in a real pickle.
"I set two cards and summon 'Garoth, the Lightsworn Warrior!' I end my turn, but before that, I'll activate my Trap Card 'Light Spiral!' Every time a card is sent from my deck to the GY, I can banish the top card from your deck!"
Lenix sighed, looking at his hand.
Solemn Judgment, Morphing Jar, Man-Eater Bug, Soul Exchange, and Magic Cylinder stared back.
“I draw."
He'd hoped for Nephthys' Handmaiden, but instesd drew 'United We Stand' instead. “Damn… Welp, I set one monster face-down, two cards, and end my turn."
The moment her Standby Phase began, Akane activated one of her face-down cards. "I draw and activate a Quick-Play Spell!"
"Mystical Space Typhoon?" Lenix guessed, and he guessed right.
Thankfully, Akane had targeted his Solemn Judgment instead of Magic Cylinder.
"Now, I summon Jenis, Lightsworn Mender in Attack Position! Garoth, attack his face-down monster!"
'Look at that vigor… She's a natural.'
Lenix thought.
That, or she'd lied about being a newbie, or the Lightsworn Arcbetype was truly that overpowered. He wouldn't know; his interaction with the them had mostly been him collecting them for their cool artwork.
His set card flipped, revealing the grotesque, humanoid Man-Eater Bug with jagged, chippped teeth. The thing looked like it had crawled down from Lovecraft's brain and out of his ass, but it provided removal, something he desperately needed at the moment. Honestly? Lenix had kept the card because it was cheap, and he really couldn't afford to owe Grandpa Mutou any more than he already did, but the Bug had come in clutch.
"I activate Man-Eater Bug's effect and target your Garoth!" It's the only optimal play. Not only did it stop Akane from milling cards with Garoth, it also destroyed one of the main Level 4 aggressors in her deck.
As for the Lightsworn Mender? Lenix could shrug off her meager 300 ATK, no problem.
"Garoth!" Akane cried as Man-Eater Bug burrowed beneath the ground and into Garoth's monster zone, its wide maw clamping down on the Lightsworn Warrior's shin.
Garoth responded by spearing the wretched bug through its chest, but it's two late. Sinking into the ground, the only evidences left of the two monsters were the light particles spewing out of the rapidly filling hole. "T-Then I'll attack with Jenis!"
A golden prompt flashed on Lenix's Duel Disk, urging him to play Magic Cylinder, but he took the blast head-on like a champ instead.
Lenix Owens: 3700 LP
"Next, I activate 'Premature Burial,' sacrificing 800 LP to return my Garoth to the field!" A muscular arm punched through the soil, and the purple-haired, white-clad warrior emerged. Garoth's not quite victorious, but he was alive, whereas Lenix's Man-Eater Bug's already seven feet under.
Akane Fushio: 3200 LP
Lenix needed a way to stall.
Where the Hell was his Spirit Reaper when he needed the lil' guy? "Come on, give me something!"
"I draw!" It wasn't the Handmaiden that answered his plea, but a Quick-Play Spell depicting four colorful sheep. "I activate the Quick-Spell: 'Scapegoat,' and end my turn!"
"Look at that guy!" Someone in the audience jeered. "He's getting his ass kicked by some school girl!"
"What a loser!" Another joined in heartily.
Ignoring the taunts, Lenix's fingers grazed the holographic sheep's wool.
At least Akane hadn't been able to mill any cards, and with only one in her hand, he was certain she couldn't OTK him yet. He was safe! For now…
"Draw! I summon Ryko in Attack Position!"
The white wolf materialized on the field like a flash of lightning, its feral eyes and frothing jaws—twisted by a hateful snarl—snapping at Lenix viciously. "Garoth, Ryko, Jenis! Attack his sheeps!"
One by one, the Lightsworns swarmed his side of the field, tearing through the peaceful, placid-looking sheep tokens until only one remained—the pinkish-red sheep, trembling fearfully in place. Lenix almost felt bad for the little guy. Almost. 'Better you than me, buddy.'
Worst-case scenario, 'If the Handmaiden still refused to show…'
His gaze lingered on the Morphing Jar in his hand as the grinning monster winked at him.
"I end my turn."
"Draw!" Closing his eyes, Lenix flipped the card over, and there it was.
Just as ugly as its inferior variant, and twice as big, Mimicking Man-Eater Bug growled from his hand. 'Well, hello there, my ugly little win-con.'
"I set one monster face-down and end my turn."
"My turn, draw!"
After a quick scan of the Spell card's effect, Akane slammed Lightsworn Sabre onto her Duel Disk and immediately equipped it to her Jenis. Lenix clicked his tongue. If only she'd equipped it to her Garoth… 'No matter. Victory is mine.'
"Garoth, attack his face-down monster again!"
'It's or never.' With the thought in mind, Lenix activated, “'Magic Cylinder!'”
"What?!" Just as the Lightsworn Warrior lunged for the attack, a giant purple Cylinder swallowed him whole, before spitting him back out towards his Duelist instead, his spear still poised for strike he couldn't retract in time.
Akane Fushio: 1350 LP
“Urgh!!! Jenis, attack his face-down!“
With her first attack foiled, Akane immediately continued her offense, only to find—
“Again?!“ The audience roared with rage.
“What's with that chicken-shit playstyle?! Boo!!!“
“Mimicking Man-Eater Bug has the ability to target one monster on the field and destroy it! But there's more!“
Cackling like a Season Villain, Lenix snapped his fingers, smiling from ear-to-ear as the Level 4 monster tore Garoth apart again.
“Whichever monster he targets, he gains ATK equal to that monster's ATK! Not only that, he also cannot be destroyed by battle!“
It was a truly busted monster.
He had wanted to save for the Judgement Dragon, but victory was at hand, even without his sulking Phoenix. Rather than a Nephthys-Centric Deck, it's more accurate to say Lenix had built a Control-Deck and added the Sacred Phoenix later on.
He had no choice… For a Sacred Phoenix, Nephthys sure didn't have a lot of 'servants,' not at the moment at least. 'Can't wait for Conductor and Cerulean.'
“And guess which monster I pick?!“
“Garoth! NO!!!“ Once again, the Lightsworn Warrior was devoured by the Insect, but this time, their squabble no longer resulted in mutual destruction. In fact, Garoth's high ATK had worked against his Duelist, boosting Lenix's Mimicking Man-Eater Bug's ATK to a whooping 2300. Lenix had already won. “Sorry, Akane-chan, but my next turn will be the last!“
Such was the weakness of the Lightsworn. While incredibly powerful and aggressive, the Archetype was a Ramp-Beater that lacked both protection and removal. “Urgh! Ryko, attack his sheep!“ It was a foolish thing to do, but given how red she was in the face, Lenix doubted Akane's capable of reason any longer. Not with her Garoth once again tossed in the Graveyard.
With her announcement, his last sheep was swiftly torn apart by her wolf.
It didn't matter.
They had done their job.
Now it's his turn as their Duelist to finish what he started.
“I end my turn…”
'Eight turns?'
It was even faster than his duel with Takimaru, but far more daunting if Lenix was being honest. Against Takimaru, there was never a doubt in his mind that he would lose.
Against the Lightsworn? Not so much.
Such was the raw power of a Tier 0. "You should have switched your Ryko to Defense Position. You might have lasted another turn."
Chuckling, Lenix drew a card, desperately hoping to find Nephthys. Not that he needed her to achieve victory, but he wanted to see sunlight reflected off her metallic body. Alas… 'What are you girls even upset about anyway?'
His question's met with a resounding silence. Helpless, Lenix could only start without them.
“First. I activate the card I just drew: Giant Trunade!" A howling Wind Demon materialized overhead, its green miasma sweeping away all the cards in Akane's back row, leaving only her Level 2 Ryko and Level 4 Jenis exposed on the field. And in Attack Position, no less.
"Next, I summon Morphing Jar #2 in Attack Position, and equip United We Stand. Since there are two monsters on my side of the field, Mimicking Man-Eater Bug's ATK increases by another 1600!“
Mimicking Man-Eater Bug
Level 4
EARTH
[Insect/Effect]
FLIP: Target 1 monster on the field; destroy it, and if you do, this card gains ATK equal to that monster's original ATK, then you can change this card's Type to that monster's original Type.
Cannot be destroyed by battle. Cannot be destroyed by the effects of monsters with its same Type.
ATK: 3900
DEF: 2200
"N-No way! Even my Judgement Dragon can't fight that!“
Akane's face paled as she covered her head.
'Overvaluing ATK, classic rookie mistake.' If Judgement Dragon had been Summoned, it wouldn't mattet whether there were 5 or 10 “Mimicking Man-Eater Bugs.“ Luckily, her Deck only had one copy of “Solar Recharge” at the moment, or his 2nd Duel would also be his 1st loss in this world.
The humanoid bug launched itself at her Mender—because animal cruelty was bad, and because Ryko was a good boy—dlashy claws ripping into the Mender's shoulder, tearing her asunder. There was no blood, no gore, only shimmering particles that danced on the edge of the field.

“And that's game.“
