HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Now I wonder if he's upgraded his brag to pretending there was just a singular 'all roles' team on WoW and he was the singular manager, or if the RT interviewer is just that fucking oblivious to the realities of any project of that size that they'd interpret indefinite article "team lead" that way. At the very least it sounds like he's stopped prepending it with "writing", so he's clearly not in the business of discouraging that kind of overstatement. I guess I did see some people propose that Kern wrote this 'interview' himself, in which case that would just be using one degree of separation to start testing the waters on the "I was literally boss for all of vanilla WoW" lie inflation. And that would be the least insane reason I can think of to have this be an anonymous article. Though I also don't want to discount the idea that it wasn't him, but someone who had a way more deranged and paranoid reason to think that was necessary for their safety. Who knows, it's absurd either way.

2025-03-04 09:36:44 +0000 UTCSorry for being annoying with all these words, just a lot of thoughts with nowhere to go - there has been a noticeable push I've observed since the Inception of gamergate to make sure gamers (and anyone else uneducated on political matters it appears) only think and see politics as "the womenz and minorites being seen" while not even being able to acknowledge or identify the economic/systemic power dynamic elements of politics - garuntee the more you look the more you'll see it too...they become Jeffery Wright from Westworld going "doesn't look like anything to me" when presented with actual progressive economic politics in games or other fiction throughout media. It's been noticeable outside of fiction too, like the legacy media cannot be seen to critique the actual capitalist structure or even promote plain old public investment: it has to be only neoliberal "left wing" policies allowed for the proles. Do not look at the inner workings, citizen! ----+---- Oh, quick little amusing anecdote; saw in real time a reactionary gamer on a forum somewhat recently post their experience of a minor backpedal opinion crisis to do with sweet baby Inc when they found out the silent hill 2 remake also apparently used their service too, only after praising the game beforehand. Was fascinating. There was another account trying to ease their panic by saying something like "oh it's probably only cos of mental health related stuff" which am assuming was meant to imply "AS OPPOSED THE GAYS AND WOMEN" lol
