If Ed goes on the Lex Fridman Podcast, it might be the only time I'll ever listen to it.

I often think about that "Oh No" comic artist with the little pink blob people. There's one where the pink blob person goes "I want things to be different", grabs a baseball bat and smashes their room to pieces and then goes "Oh no" when everything is broken and fucked up. And it's a silly little comic but it IS how people act often! When people feel like things aren't right they'll often rather just destroy everything we have than have it stay the same, in the hopes that SOMEHOW whatever emerges on the other side will be better. It probably won't be, but at least it WILL be different. I think that's the mistake moderates make. If stuff is ALREADY bad and the only options are "everything's gonna stay the same" and "burn everything" they're gonna pick "burn everything". The little pink blob-man isn't gonna listen to his blob-friend saying "No the room is fine. Don't break it." but he MIGHT liten if he says "You're right! This room IS bad! Let's figure out what things do we need to throw out? What NEW things can we get to make it good?"

Small thing but I recently subscribed and the Patreon feed doesn't distinguish bonus eps in any way so when I go to listen to them I have to cross-reference what isn't on basic feed... Mildly annoying okay carry on.

I think also a lot of these tech companies, MAYBE not facebook or Google. Maybe... But a lot of them are just pump-and-dump scheme. Only made to last and keep making money for a short period of time until the law will catch up to them or they'll inevitably crash. Like a game of hot-potato. Nobody wants to be stuck holding it but if you can get in while it's good and throw it to someone else before it all falls apart you can make a lot of money.
