Pokemon: Resurgence Chapter 77
Added 2025-01-30 10:07:41 +0000 UTCHi all,
Here’s the first chapter of the week. The submarine fights to escape Kyogre, and a bigger calamity is around the corner.
Chapter 77
A wall of pressurised water erupted from Kyogre's maw. Stern wrenched the controls, the submarine's metal screaming as they lurched sideways. The Hydro Pump carved through the space they'd occupied seconds before, the shockwave rattling their teeth.
"Stabilisers failing!" A crew member shouted over the groan of straining metal.
Lucas' arms shook as he maintained the barrier around their battered vessel. Sweat trickled down his spine, and his vision blurred from exhaustion. Through the viewport, Kyogre's massive form glided closer, its red markings pulsing with power.
He used Insight as soon as the legendary Pokemon entered his range:

Lucas felt his stomach churn as he quickly browsed through Kyogre’s parameters. In the ocean, they were like sitting ducks. Kyogre could finish them off whenever it wanted.
"Brace!" Stern bellowed.
Kyogre slammed into the submarine's port side. The impact sent them spinning through the murky depths. Lucas staggered, his barrier flickering dangerously. Beside him, Sabrina's face contorted with strain as her telekinesis fought to stabilise their vessel. Metal buckled under the combined assault of Kyogre's raw power and the ocean's crushing pressure.
"We can't take another hit like that," Wallace said through gritted teeth, his injured leg braced against the wall.
A wild idea struck him. "Sabrina, summon Mortimer."
Sabrina didn’t question him. She retrieved a pokeball from her belt and released the Gengar. Mortimer's red eyes widened at the chaos around them.
"The pressure outside—does it affect you?" Lucas asked.
Mortimer's head bobbed in a contradictory gesture—both yes and no.
"Only partially," Sabrina explained between laboured breaths. "He can exist between a physical and incorporeal state."
Lucas yanked several empty pokeballs from the inventory attached to his belt. "Take these. Get outside and throw the pokeballs at Kyogre to keep it occupied.”
"What?" Stern's head snapped around. "What are you planning?"
"Buying us some time," Lucas replied.
Mortimer phased through the hull. Through the viewport, they watched the Gengar materialise beside Kyogre. The first pokeball struck true, its red beam engulfing the legendary, sucking it inside. Although there was no chance the pokeball would capture Kyogre, it didn’t mean legendaries were exempt from its mechanics. Every Pokemon, regardless of its strengths, would be captured, albeit temporarily.
The submarine shot forward as Kyogre vanished, buying precious seconds. Lucas fumbled with his aura potions, downing three in quick succession. Energy surged through him as he reinforced the barrier around their vessel.
The pokeball exploded. Kyogre burst free with a roar that shook the ocean itself. Before it could attack, Mortimer threw another pokeball, timing it perfectly. The legendary vanished again, trapped momentarily in digital stasis.
"It's working!" Wallace gripped his seat as they continued their ascent.
Five more times Mortimer repeated the process, each capture buying them vital distance. But Kyogre's fury grew with each escape. As soon as Mortimer ran out of pokeballs, it surged after them, closing the gap with terrifying speed.
Lucas reached for Saphira's pokeball, his mind racing through desperate options. It looked like he had to use Dive after all.
The water around them suddenly churned with new violence. A familiar roar reverberated through the depths. Mega Gyarados burst from below, its armoured bulk intercepting Kyogre's charge. The two titans circled each other, power radiating from their forms in visible waves.
“Now that’s a sight to see." Wallace breathed. "It looks like they have a grudge with each other."
“No surprise,” Lucas muttered. “Considering what we found in the cavern.”
They clashed in an explosion of force that turned the ocean into a maelstrom. Mega Gyarados' fangs sparked and skidded against Kyogre's armoured hide, leaving shallow grooves in its plating. The legendary's tail whipped around, generating shock waves through the water.
Their battle transformed the murky depths into a light show. Mega Gyarados' Dragon Pulse carved purple streaks through the water while Kyogre's Origin Pulse erupted in blinding blue waves. When the attacks collided, a massive explosion erupted, temporarily obscuring their vision.
"Full power to engines," Stern ordered, his knuckles white on the controls. "While they're distracted."
The submarine's damaged hull groaned as they limped upward. Through the viewport, they watched the titans battle. Kyogre's mastery over water became evident as currents bent to its will, battering Mega Gyarados from multiple angles. Even with its power, the serpentine Pokemon struggled against the legendary's absolute control over the environment.
Mega Gyarados unleashed a point-blank Hyper Beam that momentarily drove Kyogre back. But the legendary recovered swiftly, retaliating with a Water Spout that generated enough force to send its opponent surging backwards through the water.
“The Gyarados doesn’t stand a chance,” Lucas murmured. Although Mega Gyarados was formidable, it had nothing on Kyogre.
Their vessel rose steadily through progressively darker waters as the battle raged below. A final, haunting roar echoed through the depths—a sound filled with either triumph or despair, impossible to determine at this distance.
"Think we've seen the last of it?" Lucas asked.
"Hard to say." Stern wiped the sweat from his weathered face, eyes fixed on the device in his hands. "That Gyarados couldn't have appeared at a better moment."
Metal groaned around them as crew members scrambled to assess the damage. Although they had escaped Kyogre, it didn’t mean they were out of the woods yet.
Sabrina swayed on her feet, face grey with exhaustion. Her shoulders trembled with the effort of maintaining her telekinesis.
"Rest," Lucas said softly. "I'll keep this submarine together."
She managed a weak nod before releasing her hold. Her knees buckled and she slid down the wall, head dropping to her chest. Mortimer materialised beside her, seemingly unfazed by his brush with a legendary Pokemon. The Gengar's grin stretched wider as Sabrina patted his shadowy form.
"Good work out there," she murmured.
"Gar," Mortimer preened, red eyes glowing with satisfaction.

After their harrowing ascent, the submarine limped into Slateport's harbour. Lucas maintained his barrier until they surfaced. He had consumed too many aura potions, but it wasn’t like he had a choice.
The crew worked quickly to secure the vessel. Lucas scanned the docks for signs of Team Aqua but found no trace of the criminal organisation's submarine.
"I must report our discoveries to the Prime Minister immediately,” Captain Stern said, approaching him. “It's beyond anything we expected.”
Lucas glanced at Sabrina, who was massaging her forehead. She now had a migraine because she overused her abilities. “Please don’t tell me we have to come as well. Sabrina needs rest.”
“No, I should be fine on my own,” Stern said, raising his hand in farewell. “I hope you stick around. I would like to thank you for saving our lives.”
Back at their hotel, Lucas and Sabrina took a shower. Clean and somewhat recovered, they headed to the dining room for lunch.
Thunder cracked overhead as the first fat droplets splashed against the restaurant windows. Lucas paused mid-bite, as the gentle patter quickly transformed into a deafening roar.
"Where did this come from?" Sabrina pressed against the window. Water cascaded down in solid sheets, blurring the world beyond into indistinct shapes.
Lucas looked at the sky. Dark clouds churned above, turning the day into premature dusk. Even in the worst storm, he couldn’t imagine the sheer volume of rain falling all at once. This could get dangerous.
The chandeliers swayed as another thunderclap rattled the building's foundations. A waiter stumbled, dishes clattering as he caught himself on a nearby table. Outside, people scattered for cover, newspapers and shopping bags held futilely over their heads as the deluge turned sideways in the howling wind.
"Everyone away from the windows!" The hotel manager's voice carried over the storm's cacophony.
“Should we leave?” Sabrina asked.
“Let's observe the situation some more,” Lucas said.
Staff members herded diners toward the centre of the room while others hauled sandbags from a storage closet to place at the entrance.
Several hours crawled by. The street outside had vanished beneath a churning brown torrent that swept away trash cans and carried small debris in its current. Cars sat half-submerged, their alarms wailing futilely beneath the storm's assault.
The television above the bar flickered as lightning split the sky. A harried meteorologist gestured at radar screens showing massive red and purple storm systems blanketing the region. His tie hung askew, sweat beading on his forehead despite the studio's air conditioning.
"This is impossible," he muttered, forgetting his microphone was live. "These formations violate every atmospheric model we have."
The camera cut to a field reporter, her yellow raincoat almost fluorescent against the gloom. Rain lashed her face as she shouted to be heard over the wind. "I'm standing in what was downtown Lilycove City just hours ago. As you can see behind me, the harbour has completely overflowed. Wave height continues to increase as the storm intensifies. Local authorities are calling for immediate evacuation—"
Static consumed the image. When the signal returned, the news anchor's carefully maintained composure had cracked. "We're receiving similar reports across Hoenn. Mauville, Fortree, and Slateport—all reporting critical flooding. Emergency services are being overwhelmed. Citizens are urged to move to higher ground immediately. I repeat, seek higher ground now."
"This is no natural storm," Sabrina whispered, her hand finding Lucas's beneath the table.
He squeezed back, watching the water creep steadily up the windows. The rain showed no sign of slowing, and a horrible suspicion grew in his gut about what—or who—might be responsible.
Lucas recalled Kyogre's status page. The legendary Pokemon was capable of triggering storms but surely not to this extent. His stomach churned as a realisation struck him. What if Kyogre used the Blue Orb to transform into its primal form? Perhaps he should have taken the orb when he had the chance.
"Why is Kyogre doing this?” Lucas asked. “Is It because we intruded on the Sea Cavern?"
"Don't blame yourself,” Sabrina said. “We don’t know what the cause is.”
Their phones buzzed simultaneously—urgent messages from Captain Stern. The Prime Minister had summoned them to Mauville City, the capital city of Hoenn. She needed firsthand accounts of what they'd discovered in the Seafloor Cavern. The problem was that they would need to find a way to travel there on their own.
"They'll want to know everything," Sabrina said.
Lucas nodded grimly. "And we'll have to decide how much to tell them."
Thunder cracked overhead as rain continued battering the windows. The storm showed no signs of weakening—if anything, it continued to intensify.
The television switched to footage of coastal areas. Storm surge battered seawalls while fishing boats strained at their moorings. It looked like it was turning into an apocalyptic event.
"The Prime Minister has declared a state of emergency," the anchor announced. "The military and the Rangers are deploying to assist with evacuations. All non-essential travel is suspended until further notice."
"How are we supposed to reach Mauville?" Sabrina asked. “We haven’t visited the city yet, so we can’t teleport there.”
“Flying in this weather will be a problem as well,” Lucas said before something occurred to him. “Hang on. Saphira has some weather-controlling abilities. She can keep the worst of it away from us while we fly there.”
Through the windows, they watched debris float past—branches, rubbish bins, even a bicycle tumbling in the current. Emergency sirens rang through sheets of rain, growing more frequent as the crisis deepened.
"We need to go," Sabrina said.
They quickly ascended to the top floor. When they found the roof access and opened the door, they were nearly blown backwards from the violent winds. Lucas summoned Saphira, who immediately created a cocoon of calm around herself. They climbed onto her back and Lucas directed her to fly north.
Lucas wondered if Kyogre's wrath would consume all of Hoenn. They'd escaped the legendary's domain, but its vengeance had followed them to the surface. Now an entire region might pay the price for their intrusion.
They'd have to reach Mauville quickly—before the deluge turned all of Hoenn into an extension of Kyogre's underwater empire.

Through gaps in the storm clouds, Mauville City sprawled below them—a striking blend of tradition and innovation. Over the past couple of decades, the city had been transforming itself into a version of Lumiose City from the Kalos region, spearheaded by the gym leader, Watson.
The western half gleamed with steel and glass towers, their modern architecture echoing Lumiose City's grandeur. Solar panels covered rooftops, and elevated walkways connected buildings above the now-flooded streets.
The eastern districts preserved Hoenn's heritage. Traditional wooden buildings with curved tile roofs stood alongside stone temples and tea houses. Ornate bridges—now submerged—had once arched over carefully maintained gardens and koi ponds.
At the city's heart, Mauville's own Prism Tower rose twenty stories into the turbulent sky. Though smaller than its Kalos inspiration, the tower's elegant spire still dominated the skyline. Light blazed from its windows as hundreds of refugees crowded its floors.
Rescue boats navigated the flooded streets below, ferrying survivors toward the tower's entrance. The authorities directed the flow of people from hastily established command posts in the tower's lower levels.
Saphira landed on the tower's observation deck. A stocky man with spiky white hair and a bristling moustache waited by the roof access door.
"Name’s Watson," he introduced himself, extending a calloused hand. "Gym leader. Come with me—the Prime Minister is waiting."
He led them down to a conference room packed with grim-faced officials clustered around screens showing weather data and rescue operations. Captain Stern stood with a woman Lucas recognised as the Prime Minister from news broadcasts. Her grey hair was pulled back in a severe bun, and despite the crisis, her navy suit remained immaculate.
She beckoned them to a quiet corner where an elderly man joined their group. Deep lines creased his weathered face, and his tan trench coat had seen better days.
"Detective Moore," he said. "International Police."
The Prime Minister got straight to business. "Captain Stern briefed us about the Sea Cavern. Tell me everything you observed down there."
Lucas and Sabrina described what they found in the cavern, the battle with Mega Gyarados, and the murals depicting Kyogre. He mentioned the Blue Orb but he didn’t provide any extra information. The Prime Minister's mouth tightened with disappointment.
"Nothing new then," she said. "Though the signs of cohabitation interest me. They support our theory about the cavern's original inhabitants."
"Which is?" Lucas asked.
"We believe they were ancestors of the People of the Water—an ancient seafaring civilisation that built incredible technologies.”
"Never heard of them."
The Prime Minister rubbed her temples. "They vanished centuries ago, leaving only fragments of their legacy. Their crowning achievement was a palace called Samiya, powered by something called the Sea Crown. Though it has never been found, we have found plenty of clues that lend credibility to its existence."
Detective Moore cleared his throat. "That's what brought me here. I've been tracking a criminal named Phantom, who's obsessed with finding ancient artefacts and treasures. Samiya must have piqued his interest as he surfaced in Hoenn months ago. I haven’t been able to find him so far."
"Can you tell us more about Samiya?" Sabrina asked.
"There’s not much to share. It’s supposed to be a technological marvel," the Prime Minister said. "A moving palace that travels ocean currents across the world. Most consider it a myth, but sightings persist throughout history."
"According to my sources, Phantom was convinced he'd found it," Moore added. "Then he vanished three days ago."
"You think he caused this?" Lucas gestured at the rain hammering the windows. "Seems more likely Kyogre's responsible."
Watson nodded. "Agreed. But what if Phantom disturbed something in Samiya that angered Kyogre? If the People of the Water are connected to the Sea Cavern, the palace must be connected to Kyogre. If Phantom did something to the palace…"
Lucas frowned. It could explain why Kyogre had been upset when they encountered it but the evidence was flimsy at best.
“What’s Team Aqua got to do with this?” Lucas asked.
“They were helping Phantom,” Moore said. “It’s how I managed to get intel on him. I captured one of Team Aqua’s administrators and interrogated him.”
“Team Aqua’s goal is to expand the sea,” the Prime Minister said. “If they knew this would be the result, they had a good reason to help Phantom.”
“So, why did they follow us into the ocean?” Sabrina asked. “Were they looking for the Sea Cavern as well?”
“Maybe,” Lucas said. “What about the scanner? They seemed awfully desperate to get their hands on it.”
Stern shrugged. “Maybe they wanted the same insurance as me. To be able to detect Kyogre so it couldn’t sneak up on them. Although, it didn’t do us any good.”
“How does knowing about Phantom help the current situation?” Lucas asked. “Even if he is responsible, we still have to deal with Kyogre.”
“It’s the only lead we have,” the Prime Minister said grimly. “If we do nothing, the Hoenn region will soon disappear. Which brings me to the true reason why we brought you here.”
“What do you mean?”
The Prime Minister turned to Sabrina. “Captain Stern has informed me you have a psychometric ability.”
Sabrina glared at Captain Stern, who avoided her gaze. “You couldn’t keep your mouth shut, could you?”
Detective Moore interjected. “I managed to find some of Phantom’s personal belongings. If you could glean any information on him, it would be helpful.”

Maxie's boots crunched on volcanic rock as he led his team into the Cave of Origin. Rain hammered the entrance, turning the stone steps treacherous. The ancient chamber stretched before them, illuminated by their torches.
"Set up the equipment," he ordered.
His admins scrambled to position the devices around a central platform.
Tabitha approached, water dripping from his uniform. "Final checks complete, sir. The resonance frequencies match our calculations."
Maxie nodded, glancing down at the Red Orb in his hands. Months of research, and countless resources spent—it all came down to this moment. He hadn’t planned to revive Groudon so soon but he couldn’t have anticipated today’s events. With Kyogre's storms threatening to drown Hoenn, they needed Groudon's power more than ever. Once the balance was restored, he could proceed with his plans.
The machines hummed to life, their combined frequencies penetrating deep into the earth. Minutes crawled past as tension mounted in the chamber.
The ground shifted. A tremor rippled through the cave, sending loose stones clattering. The tremor grew into a full earthquake that threatened to knock them off their feet.
"It's working!" Maxie shouted over the rumbling.
Awakening the slumbering giant didn’t take much effort. With Kyogre being so active, it was only a matter of time before it awoke on its own.
The platform cracked. Magma burst through fissures in the rock as something massive stirred below. Maxie stumbled back as intense heat blasted upward, forcing his team to retreat.
Groudon erupted from the earth in an explosion of molten rock. Its armoured bulk filled the chamber, ancient eyes blazing with awakened fury. Its roar shook the very foundations of the cave.
Maxie placed the Red Orb on the ground and retreated. “Take it, Groudon. Go primal.”
Tabitha yanked him back as Groudon's tail smashed into the spot where he'd been standing.
"Sir, we need to evacuate!" Tabitha shouted.
The Red Orb blazed on the scorched earth. Tendrils of raw power snaked through the air, latching onto Groudon with hooks of pure energy. The legendary's roar shook the ground as its flesh bubbled and stretched, ancient patterns of liquid fire etching themselves into armoured plates.
Waves of superheated air drove Maxie back, the oxygen burning in his lungs as Groudon's metamorphosis ignited the atmosphere. Through watering eyes, he watched magma burst from between the Pokemon's scales, its primal form finally awakening.
"Everyone out!" Maxie ordered. His team fled as portions of the ceiling began to collapse.
Primal Groudon burst from the cave behind them, its steps leaving molten footprints in the rock. It raised its head and bellowed a challenge that echoed across Hoenn. The sun intensified, its rays distorted by heat shimmer.
"Sir, look!" Tabitha pointed at the sky.
The storm clouds shredded like tissue paper, incinerated by Groudon's savage heat. Maxie squinted against the searing light, his boots sloshing through knee-deep water that steamed in the supernatural glare. Around him, Team Magma grunts staggered and splashed, shielding their faces with uniform sleeves.
"Get to higher ground!" Maxie ordered.
A grunt stumbled, crying out as the merciless sun seared exposed skin. Two others hauled him up, dragging him toward the shadow of a crumbling building.
"This isn't what we planned." Maxie's throat burned with each breath.
The muddy water at his feet bubbled, already dropping as Groudon's power sucked moisture from the earth.
"Sir!" A grunt pointed skyward. "The temperature—it's still climbing!"
Maxie cursed. He'd wanted Groudon to counter the storms, not transform Hoenn into a burning hellscape. The legendary's power exceeded his worst calculations, and now they all might burn for his miscalculation.
"Find shelter!" he shouted. "Move!"
The team scattered, splashing desperately through the steaming water as the sun blazed overhead like an angry god.
Primal Groudon began moving, each step leaving the ground scorched and smoking.
"Sir, your orders?" Tabitha asked.
Maxie watched their creation lumber away, powerless to stop it.

The abandoned warehouse provided scant shelter from Groudon's heat. Sweat soaked through Lucas' shirt as he rifled through historical documents scattered across a makeshift table. Maps and photographs spilled onto the dusty floor while Sabrina traced her fingers over a document.
"This might be it," she murmured, squinting at the text. "It’s a set of coordinates. Phantom must have left it behind.”
Before Lucas could respond, his mobile buzzed. The screen displayed another emergency alert—three more towns evacuated as the drought conditions worsened.
The storm had receded several hours ago but it had been replaced by an even worse nightmare. Lucas would have preferred being swept away by a flood than sweltering in this heat.
His head jerked up when screams erupted from outside.
"We need to help," he said, pocketing the coordinates. "The palace can wait."
Sabrina nodded, already reaching for her pokeballs. Outside, the sun beat down like a hammer. The streets lay empty except for Rangers mounted on their Pokemon, racing between emergencies. Police officers directed their water-type Pokemon to douse spot fires while trainers evacuated residents onto carriages pulled by sturdy Tauros and Rhyhorn.
They released their Pokemon. Icarus and Xavier soared overhead, searching for people trapped by the rapidly changing conditions. Saphira coiled through the air, her scales reflecting the brutal glare.
"There!" Sabrina pointed toward a column of smoke rising from the edge of town.
They sprinted toward it. A retirement home's gardens had ignited, flames racing through bone-dry vegetation toward the building. Elderly residents huddled at windows, trapped by the approaching fire.
"Saphira, Water Pulse!" Lucas commanded.
The Dragonair unleashed a concentrated blast, dousing the flames nearest the building. But the heat had grown so intense that the water partially evaporated before hitting the ground.
Sabrina's eyes glowed as she reached out with her powers. One by one, she lifted residents from upper windows, floating them safely to the street where Rangers waited with medical supplies and water-type Pokemon.
"Behind you!" Lucas yanked her aside as a burning tree crashed down. His aura barrier sprang up, deflecting a shower of embers.
More emergency calls flooded in—a school surrounded by spreading fires, Pokemon centres losing power as their cooling systems failed, wild Pokemon fleeing the burning forests and charging into populated areas.
"We need to split up," Sabrina said, steadying herself. "Cover more ground."
Lucas grabbed her arm. "Be careful. This heat's getting worse."
She managed a tight smile before teleporting away with her Pokemon. Lucas turned back to the retirement home, coordinating with Rangers as Saphira continued battling the blaze.
His phone buzzed again—a message from Wallace. The Gym Leader's text was brief: "Situation critical. Groudon's power is spreading faster than predicted. Get out of the city!”
The warning came too late. A tremor shook the street, powerful enough to knock Lucas off his feet. Fissures raced across the pavement, steam and hot gases venting from the cracks. The ground shifted, buckling upward as Groudon's influence reshaped the landscape.
"Everyone back!" Lucas shouted to the Rangers. His barrier expanded, shielding them as chunks of asphalt rained down.
The retirement home's foundations groaned. Lucas sprinted inside, searching for anyone left behind. He found an elderly man struggling with a walking stick in a smoke-filled corridor.
"I've got you." Lucas scooped him up, charging back toward the exit as the building shuddered. They emerged into the hellish sunlight just as a section of the roof caved in.
A Ranger immediately began treating the man's heat exhaustion while Blastoise kept the flames at bay. Lucas sagged against a stone wall, his own lungs burning from the superheated air.
"The hospital is collapsing!" Someone shouted.
The ground buckled again, more violently this time. Through the waves of distorted air, Lucas spotted Sabrina on a nearby rooftop.
"Lucas! The hospital—hurry!"
He fumbled for Dante's pokeball as another tremor nearly knocked him off his feet. The ground buckled, more violently this time, splitting the road in jagged lines.
"Get us there," Lucas commanded, releasing Dante. The Gardevoir's eyes widened at the chaos surrounding them.
The world blurred and reformed. The hospital materialised before them, its foundations crumbling into the fractured earth. Through the open doors, nurses darted between beds while trainers directed their Pokemon in evacuation efforts. A line of Machoke passed stretchers down makeshift ramps as the building tilted at a sickening angle.
Rangers shouted orders, their water-type Pokemon fighting to control fires erupting from ruptured gas lines. A pair of Blastoise aimed Hydro Pump at the flames while Golduck created platforms of compressed water to help people down from upper windows.
Sabrina appeared beside him, her face streaked with sweat and soot. "The foundations are giving way. We need to evacuate everyone before—"
A deep rumble cut her off. The ground split beneath the hospital's east wing, swallowing chunks of masonry. Windows shattered in succession as the structure groaned, patients screaming from the upper floors.
"How many are still inside?" Lucas scanned the tilting building.
"At least two hundred." Sabrina swayed, exhaustion etched in every line of her face. "I don’t have enough psychic energy left. I’m still recovering from earlier.”
Lucas's mind raced. His barrier might buy precious minutes, but not enough to evacuate everyone. Dante could teleport small groups, but the building was disintegrating too rapidly. Each passing second brought them closer to catastrophe.
Another tremor ripped through the earth. Wooden beams snapped like twigs, the sound echoing through the superheated air. The hospital's upper floors twisted, bricks raining down as walls began to separate.
Lucas came to a difficult decision. To hell with secrecy—hundreds of lives hung in the balance. He'd use every ability at his disposal, exposure be damned.
The choice vanished in an instant. A roar split the sky, drowning out even the sound of collapsing masonry. The sun dimmed as a massive shadow swept overhead. Lucas looked up to see a massive serpentine Pokemon descending from the stratosphere. Rayquaza.
The legendary dragon's scales rippled with barely contained power as it plunged toward the city. Its presence sent people and Pokemon fleeing in terror.
The hospital gave another tortured groan. The east wing began to fold in on itself.
Time seemed to slow as Rayquaza's gaze fixed upon them. The legendary could be their salvation or their destruction. Everything hinged on what happened next.
So, what do you think? In the next chapter, Lucas bears witness to a legendary Pokemon showdown.
Thanks for reading.
