Crossover Insanity Chapter 2

Hi all,

Here’s the next chapter of my new story. Dobby quickly gains strength and takes command of the elves. But something goes wrong with a technique he tries.

Chapter 2 - Dobby, the Elf Lord

Over the next few weeks, Dobby abandoned his search for the heraldry in favour of reading the new books and learning more about chakra and other aspects of ninja life. He was immediately presented with a challenge because it was written in a different language. After some investigation, he discovered it was Japanese. He asked the room to summon some books to help him learn the language, and he spent every waking moment studying. He only stopped to feed himself.

After overcoming that challenge, he read the books from start to finish several times to ensure he understood everything. His excitement increased with each word he read until he was giggling uncontrollably. This new power of his wasn’t magical, but it was just as good, if not superior, in some areas.

“Dobby has unlocked his chakra, so he doesn’t have to worry about that.”

That occurred naturally when his body was altered to allow him to use chakra. According to what he read, chakra wasn’t an energy found in this world. However, his body could filter magic from the environment and convert it into chakra, so he didn’t have to worry about replenishing it.

Dobby sat at his desk, jotting down something on a piece of parchment. He would set up his cosy little nook in a corner of the Room of Requirement. He had enclosed the space with some old bookshelves to provide some privacy from any elves who might wander in. A lantern hung from a hook above him, providing him with a source of light.

The Box of Curiosities was placed next to the table, concealed beneath several objects to prevent anyone from discovering it.

“Dobby needs to plan a training plan.”

He devised a comprehensive workout routine aimed at laying the groundwork for his body to master more difficult techniques and jutsu in the future.

"Dobby should begin by practising strength training, mental conditioning, hand seals, chakra control exercises, taijutsu, ninjutsu, and genjutsu. I cannot forget about ninja tools either, but I need to figure out how to make them first. Dobby needs to learn a lot. Better get started.”

Dobby stood up and moved one of the bookcases aside, revealing a space roughly twice the size of his secret hidey-hole. This was his training area, where he would spend the majority of his time in the coming months.

He dropped to the floor and began performing pushups, the first exercise in his routine. His technique was awful, and he had to make several adjustments before he was satisfied that he was performing them correctly. He managed to do thirty push-ups before he collapsed to the floor.

"This will not be easy,” Dobby wheezed. “No pain, no gain. Dattebayo!”

Dobby blinked. Why did he keep repeating such a stupid word? Did the chakra damage his brain?

“No, this is all the old master’s fault. Maybe I should give him some brain damage to show him how it feels.”

Motivated by his revenge, Dobby continued to train like an elf possessed.

Dobby spent the next two months training for hours every day, working on different exercises to set a proper foundation, which would lead to him becoming a powerful ninja. He was particularly interested in improving his chakra control because the ability to use genjutsu sounded powerful based on what he had read.

He spent his mornings working on his physical fitness. Training his body was difficult at first because he was not used to abusing it in this way. He worked hard and sweated all morning, which left him hurting all over when he awoke the next day. But after two weeks, he began to see some results. He could finally tell that he had grown stronger, and the workout became a little easier.

This process repeated itself several times over the next two months until, physically, he was a transformed elf. Due to working out every day, and his large appetite, he had grown in stature and body mass. He believed that the chakra had a hand in reshaping his body so much.

Dobby was easily the biggest house elf in the castle at this point. The reactions he got from the other elves were mixed, with some showing awe, while others looked at him like he was a freak. They were fools to treat him so rudely, and he would soon show them who was boss.

In the afternoons, he primarily worked on his chakra control, taijutsu, and genjutsu skills. While being able to breathe fire out of his mouth sounded cool, he didn’t want to focus on mastering a few key aspects first and not overextend himself too much. He did, however, learn the transformation and cloning techniques, as they sounded like they would be useful in a variety of situations.

Dobby consistently improved his taijutsu skills by battling trainer dummies that he had the Room conjure up. These dummies were enchanted objects meant to actively engage him in combat. They were relics from a time when knights were commonplace and were created as training aids for them. There were several levels of difficulty and the dummies wielded a variety of weapon types. Fortunately, they were wooden replicas, so he didn’t sustain any fatal injuries, though they still hurt a lot.

Despite being defeated several times, Dobby improved over time and eventually gained the upper hand in battle. His progress prompted him to escalate the challenge by increasing the difficulty level, repeating the cycle of being defeated before adjusting to the difficulty and eventually overcoming his opponents.

Dobby was learning the "Konoha Academy Style," a fundamental set of martial arts moves that could be used as a foundation to build a more advanced style in the future. But it was already powerful enough, given that his physique continued to improve, making him stronger and faster. Given how soft wizards were, he could dispatch the majority of them with ease.

He enjoyed genjutsu the most and was learning a specific style from the book. The style revolved around the use of clothing to amplify the illusion that he was attempting to inflict on the target. He had chosen this particular style for a reason, though he had no idea how feasible it was in practice. Genjutsu worked by controlling the chakra flow of a target's cerebral nervous system, but if no one else on the planet had chakra, would it still work against humans? What about wizards? Would their magic interfere, or would it function similarly to chakra in this regard?

"Dobby needs to experiment," he murmured, his eyes shining.

He approached a bookshelf and picked up the house-elf heraldry he had discovered over a week ago. Unlike the other scrubs, he found it after only a few days of searching. The heraldry was a sash worn across the body, mainly coloured in shades of brown and green. It featured an emblem stitched in the centre, which originally depicted a pair of elves bowing to a wizard.

He replaced the emblem on the sash, incensed that their heraldry depicted wizard worship. He meticulously created the new design by replacing the wizard with his own image. It was unmistakably him, a change that could possibly help him with his scheme.

Dobby waited for a house elf to appear in the Room of Hidden Things. The next one to appear was a house elf named Tipsy. He expected the house elf to drop off another lost item, but he was surprised to discover that the elf pulled out some bottles of butterbeer. Curious, he watched as he drank one bottle after another, becoming increasingly intoxicated.

"The elf was named correctly. What a shameless elf! I like him!” Dobby murmured. “He shall be my first subordinate.”

Before Tipsy could pass out from intoxication, Dobby jumped out of his hiding place, startling the elf.

“You scare me,” the male house-elf squeaked. “You are a bad elf. Wait, what are you wearing?”

"You are one to talk, Tipsy," he accused, ignoring his question. "But Dobby likes how you deviate from the norm and don’t behave like the other scrubs."

Dobby used a hand sign to execute the genjutsu. He watched with increasing excitement as Tipsy fell silent and stared at the emblem on his chest. Was it going to work?

"Tipsy greets the Elf-Lord, Dobby," Tipsy hiccuped and gave a clumsy bow. "What are your orders, my lord?"

Dobby shivered with delight as his plan came to fruition. He had expected disappointment when he first devised this scheme, but his experiment had gone off without a hitch. He suspected that the house elf's submissive nature made them more vulnerable to mind manipulation, particularly when it involved authority figures. He tricked the elf into thinking Dobby was a lord by using the heraldry sash as a medium. There was no evidence of Tipsy's magic resisting the illusion.

Now all he had to do was keep Tipsy here to see how long the house-elf would be under the genjutsu. Would it last indefinitely, until something shocked Tipsy out of it, or would it fade after a while and he would have to reapply it? He would have to find out before using it on the other house elves. Furthermore, he needed to keep improving his technique so that he could target more than one at a time, otherwise, it might give an elf time to escape.

Dobby was convinced that he was acting in the best interests of the house elves. They needed to be set free from the wizards' control and taught to be proper elves. It had nothing to do with him being a lord who gained a great number of submissive subordinates. Absolutely not!

What was the phrase he heard the old goat beard mutter sometimes? It was for the Greater Good!

“Dobby has a task for you,” he told Tipsy. "You must stay here for the time being, and do not let any of the other elves see you. You can work on making me some new clothes that are appropriate for my station."

Tipsy saluted before emptying his stomach onto the floor and falling face-first into it as he fainted.

Dobby chuckled. “What a funny elf. Maybe I will make him my jester?”

It took two weeks for Dobby to realise that Tipsy was permanently under the genjutsu that misled him into believing Dobby was a lord. Something else had to be going on, as he didn’t think the genjutsu could last this long. Was it possible that Tipsy’s magic was feeding the illusion? Perhaps the elves' unique ability to bond with wizards influenced it in some way? Also, it’s possible that magic and chakra are more compatible than he previously thought.

The new school year was almost here, and he was determined to get the elves under his control before it began. This meant he would have some bargaining power over the old goat beard before the students arrived. The inhabitants of the castle were helpless without the elves to take care of it.

To ensure that his takeover was a success, he had asked Tipsy to do something for him.

Dobby entered the kitchens and looked around. It appeared that every elf in the castle was here, eating their breakfast before they began their duties for the day. He noticed Tipsy at one of the tables, who gave him a thumbs up when their eyes met. Dobby nodded in satisfaction. His subordinate hadn’t disappointed him.

"Listen up," Dobby jumped onto the table and gazed down at the elves. "Things are about to change around here. I am Lord Dobby, your new master.”

"Get down from there, you silly elf." Maisie grasped her ladle and shook it at him. "Wait, is that the elves' heraldry? Why does it look different?”

Dobby executed his genjutsu and used it on the table of nine elves he was standing on. After so much practice, this was his limit. Which is why he had to take extra measures to ensure no one escaped. There were over a hundred elves at Hogwarts, and he would never be able to put so many under his genjutsu at the same time.

The table of elves rose from their seats and bowed to him. “Greetings, Lord Dobby!”

The rest of the elves looked shocked at the strange happenings, and they all rose to their feet in alarm.

"He is using dark magic," one of them exclaimed, pointing an accusing finger at Dobby. "We must warn the headmaster of his evil deeds."

The elf tried to apparate out of the kitchen, but instead, he fell to the floor, clutching his stomach.

“What did you do, Dobby?” Maisie scolded him.

“Tipsy is the one who did it,” the elf announced as he got to his feet. “My lord, I managed to slip the poison into their food. They won’t be able to use their magic for a while.”

Dobby nodded imperiously. “Good work, Tipsy.”

The house elves cried out in outrage, shouting about "being betrayed and poisoned." Some of them attempted to reach the door, but Dobby was quick to react and block them. He beat them with his fists until they became obedient.

"Dobby will now convert the rest of your minds to my way of thinking."

A few hours later, Dobby sat at the table, with the house elves on the floor, waiting for his instructions. He had the ladle in his hand, that Maisie had offered to him with a simpering smile. Now that he had completed his task, he was considering what he should do first. He frowned as he realised how uncomfortable the table was to sit on.

"You three," he said, pointing at some elves. "Go find me a throne that is appropriate for my station. Be quick about it.”

Dumbledore returned to the Great Hall for lunch and discovered that his throne chair had gone missing. Frowning, he looked around for the perpetrator. If it had not been for the school holidays, he might have assumed the twins were playing a prank on him. Sighing, he conjured a chair and sat down. Whoever dared to steal his chair would face the consequences one day.

Dobby scowled and threw away his elves' latest report. He snapped his fingers, and an elf rushed forward with a refreshment. As he sipped his drink, he considered how he would handle the new development.

It had only been a few days since he had become the elves' leader, and he took great pleasure in hearing them address him as Lord. For the time being, they carried on with their normal duties at the castle. He planned to meet with the headmaster soon and demand some concessions for the elves in the castle. After some convincing, the elves agreed that they needed to be paid, and if their demands weren’t met, there would be a mutiny.

Dobby had converted the Room of Hidden Things into his throne room after the elves had cleaned it up. They went on to transform it into a lavishly decorated throne room worthy of his station, with the headmaster’s throne as the centrepiece. There was an attached bedroom behind his throne where he slept and kept the Box of Curiosities under lock and key. Once he had resolved the current mess, he would consider fulfilling the first condition to gain additional power.

“What do you want to do about this situation, my lord?” Maisie asked. “The dementors aren’t easy creatures to deal with.”

Maisie had become his advisor after falling under his influence. She was the oldest and wisest elf in the castle, and she had proven invaluable thus far.

Dobby sighed. "Even if Dobby threatened the old goat beard, it would not help because his hands are tied. The Minister of Magic is insisting that the foul creatures be present at Hogwarts as a result of Sirius Black’s escape from prison."

He didn’t think he could destroy the Dementors with his current abilities, or if it was even possible to destroy them. It wasn’t an issue he had to solve right away, as the elves were safe in the castle, but their presence rankled.

“I am returning to Dobby’s room, so you may return to your duties,” he told the elves present in the room.

Once he was back in his room, he grabbed one of the ninja books off the bookcase. For the past few days, he has been studying the summoning technique in further detail. From what he understood, he needed to sign a contract with a summoning clan before he summoned them to his side. Since there wasn’t anything like these clans on Earth, he was out of luck in that regard.

But there was another method. He could attempt to summon something without a contract, but the odds that he would connect with a viable summon were remote. Furthermore, he would be summoned to their world or dimension, if he did manage to connect to something. In addition, the book had a warning about how techniques may work differently due to how chakra works in this world.

"Dobby really wants a summon to play with. Wouldn’t it be cool if I signed a contract with a dragon?”

After a brief hesitation, he decided to take a chance. After biting on his thumb, he executed a sequence of hand signs and then slammed his hand down on the floor. A cloud of smoke engulfed him, making him cough and blurring his vision. He froze when he felt a sharp object pressing against his throat. As the smoke cleared, he found himself facing a young woman who had a short rapier pointed at his throat.

“What did you do, creature?” The woman asked, her gaze assessing everything around her. If she was scared of the unusual situation, she didn’t show it. “Where am I?”

Dobby motioned for the woman to remove the sword from his throat, which she did after a brief consideration. However, she didn’t lower her sword and kept it pointed inches away from his face.

“Speak!” The woman commanded.

Dobby bristled but decided to humour her. She would be following his orders soon enough. Although he was disappointed that his summons was a stupid human rather than a dragon.

"Dobby used a technique to summon a companion from another world. You are the disappointing result that I just happened to get."

"What form of witchcraft is this?" The woman's eyes narrowed. “Tell me, before I bury Needle in your gut.”

“Why do you call your sword a needle?” Dobby asked. “What a stupid name. And it isn’t witchcraft, although there are witches in this world.”

“This world? What is it called?”

“This is Earth. Where are you from?”

The woman ignored him and started pacing. Dobby looked at her, unsure what to make of his new summon. She didn’t look very obedient, but he would take care of that soon enough. Although she wasn’t the tallest human, she did have a presence about her.

“My name is Arya, and I am from Westeros. How do I return to my world?”

.

"You will not be returning until we reach an agreement. I command you to pull out your contract so I can sign it.”

Arya approached him, smiling. She punched him in the stomach before he could react, causing him to collapse to the floor with a wheezing gasp. Why did it hurt so much?

“What is this contract you speak of? If we are to reach an agreement, we will do so on equal terms. Do you understand?”

Dobby nodded frantically, and Arya helped him to his feet. She extended her hand, and he reluctantly shook it.

“Here’s to the start of our partnership, my ugly little friend.”

So, what do you think? The first poll will be out tomorrow to decide on another fandom to add to the story.

Thanks for reading.
