A small update from the coal mines...

Howdy folks,

I'm usually not a fan of doing these minor updates where the entire purpose is to let you know that I'm alive, but I figured it might be appropriate here. We've passed the two month mark since the last video dropped, which is a longer gap between videos than I prefer.

To cut to the chase: editing is well underway for the next video, and it should be out very soon! From here on out it'll mostly be rambling, so your mileage may vary.

As most of you will know by now, the video is on Two Worlds. Originally, I thought it might make more sense to do each game individually. But the first game was relatively short, so I decided to keep trucking and just do the entire series (two games and three standalone expansion packs) in one shot. This might have been a tad overambitious. On top of having several hundreds of hours worth of gameplay to get through (and footage to record), I also moved while making the video.

I have a very one track mind. That's usually great for getting videos done in a timely manner! But it can also make it difficult to switch gears and rebuild momentum when my usual process is interrupted. Having to move all of this furniture while dealing with realtors, lawyers, insurance brokers, alarm companies, banks, etc. and also working on the longest script I've ever written... I admit, it caught me off guard. We've also been fostering five animals, which is another responsibility that seemed more reasonable in the moment. All that to say, I might've been juggling too many balls this time. Side note: I used to hate talking on the phone. I'm totally indifferent to it now. I guess immersion therapy works.

ANYWAY with everything settled house-wise, the past couple of weeks have been much more productive. The great thing about the move is that I no longer have to be conscious of other people above our basement dungeon. So I can record or stream whenever I want to instead of having to plan around whether or not there'll be children running around upstairs, or dogs barking, what have you. I plan on talking about streaming stuff in more detail in an update after this next video is out. There'll also be some changes to the Patreon which I think will be great for both you and I, so stay tuned.

As for Two Worlds... this was more of a descent into madness than a casual look at a franchise. I'll leave most of my thoughts for the video, but suffice to say I can't believe the trajectory these games took after a fairly promising sequel. It's bad. Like, bad on a level that I haven't experienced on this channel yet (and given some of the stuff we've looked at, you know that's grim). Oh yeah, the video will also be about 4 hours long! If you've enjoyed some of the more comedic stuff like Dark Seed, I think you're going to like this one - but you, like me, may be emotionally wrung out by the time its over.

And yes, Ultima VIII is next! I thought this would be a good way to cleanse the palate and tee up a great 2026 by having Pagan be my first video of the new year. Alternatively, I've created a world in which I'm spending hundreds of hours playing Two Worlds and Ultima 8 back to back because of some deep-seated self loathing or something, I'm not sure.

And because I've kept you guys waiting for this long, here are some hints regarding my (tentative) plans for 2026 with varying degrees of vagueness:

• Golden Sun fans rejoice

• N64 fans rejoice

• JRPG fans in general rejoice

• Ultima fans despair (we all knew Ascension was coming eventually)

• And who knows what else???
