PATRON UPDATE: An update on the Sega Saturn video

Hey folks,

I figured that, since there hasn't been an update in a month or so, I'd chime in to let you know how the Sega Saturn video is going.

ITS LONG

I'm just finishing up the first draft of the script. Under normal circumstances, I'd be well into editing by now... but these aren't normal circumstances. I'm taking a look at 13 (technically 14) different Saturn games. Some of these will be shorter "first impressions" style looks at games (in the case of Japanese-only games, in particular), but most of the games I finished will be given full 20-30 minute long reviews. Here's a list of games I'll be covering in case you're curious. In alphabetical order:

It's been a lot of playing, recording, and script writing. I'm now midway through the final review of the bunch, and I'm really looking forward to putting this video together in editing. I think it's gonna be a really fun video with a lot of ebbs and flows. Some of these games are terrible, some are absurd, and some are among the best games I've ever played for this channel. I'm excited to share it with you all. I expect it'll be nearly 3 and a half hours long.

Typically, I wouldn't post an update until after a video has been released, or if I had a specific piece of news to share, but this one is a bit different. The Saturn video will likely only release towards the end of July. I am determined to get it done before then, since I'll be leaving for a little over a week at that point. Once I'm back, I'm gonna be tucking into Ultima VI. This "break" has been a great way to introduce some variety into my schedule. They say absence makes the heart grow fonder, and that's definitely true in the case of me and Ultima. I felt like I was ready for some distance after tackling Quest of the Avatar and Warriors of Destiny back-to-back, but now I long for a return to Britannia.

As an aside, I'm hoping to put out a Zone of the Enders-related video on my 2nd channel at some point. I'm only gonna do that once I manage to finish up the Saturn video. It'll be a shorter "essay" style video about atmosphere and the power of secondhand nostalgia.
