Patron Update #11 - Yakuza 5 Edition

Hello Patrons old & new, hope you're doing well!

It's been a minute since the last update, so I just wanted to fill everyone in. I'd really hoped to have the Yakuza 5 video out sooner - and that's largely because I wanted the video itself to be... much shorter than it's turned out to be. I'm VERY close to finishing the writing, at which point recording & editing follow. We're at about 30,000 words right now. No matter which way you slice it, talking about this game turns into a damn novel.

I originally picked Yakuza 5 because I thought it'd be a fun & easy script to write - but for various reasons, it has been strangely difficult. It's partly because I want to set myself apart from the numerous, high-quality Yakuza 5 retrospectives that already exist - yet, format wise, it's tough to pave my own way here. At the recommendation of a friend, I'm trying to focus more on the "vibe" than the mechanics. I imagine the video will be somewhere between 2 and 3 hours. A lot longer than I intended, but given the amount of content in this game, my expectations were probably a little unrealistic.

Please don't let up on the suggestions! I know what video I'll make next - it's one that I'm not regularly recommended, but it's one I'm dying to do (and something that will pleasantly surprise a lot of people, I think). But after that, I'm open to something totally new. Depending on the volume of recommendations, I'll most likely open that one up to Patron poll for the first time.

Also, made it to 20k subs. Woohoo! Thanks to you all for your support, to have reached this milestone 8 months in is something I never would have expected. Once I have a bit more time and have this Yakuza-shaped monkey off my back, I'll do another live celebration/Q&A.
