Patron Update #10
Added 2022-11-26 02:01:06 +0000 UTCHowdy frens,
Hope everybody is doing well. It's officially comfy season in Manitoba.. but only if you're indoors. It's hell season if you're outside. A lot of people would have me strung up in the streets if I said this publicly, but winter is my favorite season. I love snow & I like that it's dark by 5:00 PM. I certainly want to do a nice holiday stream where I play some of my nostalgic Christmas favorites from childhood.
In channel news, I hope you've either had a chance to enjoy the RPG Maker video or WILL enjoy it if/when you get around to it. It was a pretty fun & relaxed video for me to make. I immediately dove back into working on my Yakuza 5 video, and I'm really looking forward to seeing it come together. I've been consuming some free online resources on creative writing & editing in order to improve the quality of my videos, and I'm always trying to push myself to hone my craft (even if it is just talking about video games on the internet).
As always, my mind turns toward the future & I'm wondering what'll come next. I think following Yakuza, I'll be looking at another "crowd pleaser" - it's always fun to jump into a game I'm unfamiliar with and see reactions from fans of the series. I take your suggestions very seriously, so don't feel shy about letting me know what you think would make a good video!
As with all Saturdays, tomorrow at 10:00 AM CST I'll be streaming. Because I've only got an hour or two left of the Resident Evil 8 DLC, I decided I'll start playing Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines tomorrow, and finish RE8 on a random weeknight stream another time. If you haven't played VTM:B, I think you're in for a very interesting experience. It's a highly replayable game, and the definition of "flawed gem".
Also, this Thursday, December 1st, I'll be appearing on a livestreamed show called Super RPG Friends! It'll be broadcasting at 8:00 PM ET (note the difference in time zone from my own streams) if you're interested in tuning in! I've watched some of their previous shows, and it looks like an extremely chill time. Just relaxing, cracking open a Milla Lite with the lads & playing some Final Fantasy VII. The show can be found at:

Also, while I have your attention, I'd like to thank my buddy Jon (known on Patreon as... sigh... 'ImEmilCastagniers#1Fan') for creating the thumbnail for my RPG Maker video. You killed it Jon!
Thank you all for your continued support. I was just talking with my girlfriend about the awesome community I've managed to cultivate. Not sure how it happened, but I feel very fortunate nonetheless.

Loved the RPGMaker video and am in the process of going through your others - you showed up in the queue while I was watching Mortismal's Callisto Protocol vid, strangely enough, but I'm glad it happened. Hope the holiday treats you well, thanks for producing such good content :)

2022-12-04 00:00:08 +0000 UTCYes! I actually bought Finding Paradise on Switch since they just ported it, but unfortunately I'm having some technical difficulties playing it ATM. It looks beautiful though, I seriously hope they patch it.

2022-11-26 21:50:46 +0000 UTCFor sure! In between my longer videos, I try to squeeze in some videos on shorter games. There's definitely a list of some wacky & interesting games I want to cover in the shorter format.

2022-11-26 21:45:22 +0000 UTCI always do my best to tune in for LiveStreams but I always love your VODs! I also forgot to tell you since you liked the gut punch that was To The Moon so much - it's a series! There's 2 sequels for it (I'm a huge fan of the creator - Kan Gao!) The first sequel is Finding Paradise, and the second is Imposter Factory. If you loved To The Moon go check them out now! They're both the same length. I think you'll really like the Trails series - it certainly very deep (about 8 games deep with overarching plots and a very tight continuity and all the love of a 90s anime). Hopefully you'll like the Lufia series though - it's very enjoyable. The GBC has one of the most interesting Turn Based Battle systems I've ever seen.

2022-11-26 18:52:32 +0000 UTClove comes in all forms and its pretty clear you show your love for the arts in your unique way. have you considered doing some games that are less _dense_ and are more oriented towards bite size enjoyment?, like maybe space channel 5, katamari, crosscode, or even your flavor-of-the-month rogue like action rpg? i think itd be grand if you made a video on something more light to add a certain nuance on how you approach games

2022-11-26 05:40:37 +0000 UTCYooo thanks man, glad to hear you and the GF get a kick out my vids! Hylics is on sale right now, so you can get it and Suits for less than 3 bones. An absolute steal. So I've had a misconception about Trails for a while. I thought that it was a very simplistic, straightforward RPG with a niche fanbase. But I've recently been told it has an extremely deep and thematically complex plot spanning many games? I have to say, that does interest me. I may return to it when I'm feeling a Xenogears-level ambition. As for Lufia, I think you're the first person to recommend it! I recall Nintendo Power giving Lufia 2 on GameBoy Color a lot of praise. Thanks for the suggestions Captain, hope you enjoy the stream whether it's live or VOD!

2022-11-26 04:18:56 +0000 UTCI absolutely loved the RPG makers video! I had no idea about Hylics and Suits. Those look super interesting and straight up my alley! I'm hoping to make it for the stream but my GF and I are planning to sit down for your run-through of Vampire The Masquerade. We love to wind down with your stuff when we can! Your memes and jokes were also super on point with this last video. I was laughing the whole way on the train. Please take care of yourself too! Make sure to take breaks! I'd also love to possibly see your take on games like the Trails series, though I understand that it's super long series may not be for everyone. It's a super long series, but I think you'd get a kick out of it with all time protags like Lloyd. As an interesting twist, maybe if possible you'd be able to take a look at games like Lufia and Lufia 2? Totally up to you though, I love everything you put out!

2022-11-26 03:50:27 +0000 UTCThanks so much! Ultimately didn't land on Ib for various reasons, but that and OFF got a LOT of support in the comments. There's definitely enough material to make another one of these types of videos someday, so I'll be sure to include those if/when it happens. I really appreciate the commitment to helping boost the vids, since the algorithm seems to value comments & likes quite a bit. I think comments, views & likes all stay identical, so we're good there. I knew if anyone would be mentioning Golden Sun, it'd be you ð Both of those games ('specially Arcadia, surprisingly) are regularly requested in my comments. Definitely on the radar.

2022-11-26 02:52:39 +0000 UTCLoved the RPG Maker video! I was surprised Ib didn't make it on the list as I kind of associate it with those early RPG Maker horror titles like Mad Father and Witch's House, but I do think Witch's House was a good choice to represent that "era" if it can be called that. Speaking of videos, I've been curious: do views and comments and such on the early access versions of the video carry over to the public version or are those two different videos? I usually watch the early access versions but I want to do all that I can to help your channel stats since your content is so great. And finally, since you specifically asked for suggestions: I'd like to see your takes on the Golden Sun series (even Dark Dawn, for which I apologize in advance) and Skies of Arcadia.
