Fantasy was a dying genre.

Millennial speak pervaded ("Um, guys?")

Everybody chose an edge-lord character ("half gay, half straight")

ALL HOPE SEEMED LOST!

Then, the HUMAN FIGHTER MALES came to town.

Their basic nature, an act of rebellion.

Their holy mission?

friendship via wargaming with light RP elements (LIGHT!)

Here, they survive the antics of the episode prior, and sally forth with an unmistakable verve.

BTS NOTES

Writing this was a blast, fun way to quietly tie in the hat to the videos too.

Installments are hard (ask any ADHDer) but ultimately a rewarding practice. To me this year is about systematizing the projects most valuable, really giving them a ROBUST ARC.

Techwise, Narrationmaxxing strikes again (recording my lines in Logic Pro beforehand, and THEN shooting/editing to that RADIO EDIT)

A classic VS technique (first used when no camera mic, only laptop mic)

It's been helpful to establish a PERFECT RHYTM beforehand, minimizes my panic during actual shooting. (also, if the script sucks, I can tell right away, before I've sweated myself into oblivion)

This choppy animation effect really glues the various footage elements together in ONE WORLD; The fluid camera movements, and subtle VFX give it a modern, competitive feeling.

Voicing images PNGtuber style is really fun too, brings visual dynamictititititity, keeps footage workload reasonable on top of that..

Now, I still prefer the cinematic feel of the episode prior better, with it's real-time acting... I think I just need a bigger room to handle the chaos that comes with the real-time acting (props flying, costumes all over, general air flow)
