Added 2019-10-04 23:58:19 +0000 UTCHello! I just want to give you a quick rundown on how everything is going.
Basic Stuff:
The game is gonna be called Tales of Terrara. It will be divided in "Adventures". Every adventure will be a somewhat closed story with beginning and end, with a greater, overarching story arc going on that will link the Adventures. First adventure is called "Ascension".
I have a very good structure planned for the whole story. I've finished writing the overall story for the 1st adventure, but I still need to flesh out each scene and dialogue in detail. I'll do it on a scene to scene basis though, instead of writing everything now. Then I'll do the same process for the 2nd adventure when we get to that, then 3rd and so on.
I'm starting with the female protagonist. I'll probably add the male MC just after I finish the 1st Adventure for the female MC. The 3rd adventure is when you'll acquire the ability to transform into other people, so the first 2 will have different stuff for each MC.
Adult content:
My intention is to have all adult scenes in the game be optional, meaning the player could finish the entire game without ever seeing an adult scene. The reason for this is that I don't want to force anything on the players. There will be a lot of fetishes on it and I'm aware not everyone enjoys everything.
The 1st adventure will not be too crazy in terms of sex scenes. We will have mostly MxF or FxF scenes involving mostly humans and a few humanoids of other races. There will also be 1 or 2 more harcore scenes, especially towards the end, but I don't want to spoil anything. Some of the scenes will be very obvious, since the option in the dialogue will tell you exactly what's gonna happens. But there will also be more secret scenes that you'll have to do specific things to get them. I think I'll also add a scene gallery with tips on how to get each scene at some point.
For now, I did the first adult scene, which includes a few single renders and 1 animation.
Mechanics:
I've been working on a lot of different things in terms of programming since I want to have all the core mechanics in the game from the first release.
For travelling I want to have a system similar to Fallout 1 and 2. Basically there will be an overworld map of the area you are in (a kingdom for example) with little to no information on it. As you discover more info about the world more things will appear on the map. But the main places like cities you'll be able to go even if you didn't unlock it, just by finding it on the map. The travelling will be very simple visually, just like a point moving throught the map. I don't want to overcomplicate things I don't need to.
The combat is kinda complicated to tackle and I might change it still. For now it's going to be turn based with basic attacks and skills/spells. I also want to have distance management, but I don't think I need it from the beginning, so maybe I'll leave it for later, since the combats will be pretty simple in the begining.
The system with the keywords that I mentioned before is also pretty important, so I'm working on it as well. Basically there will be words that you acquire as you progress (Mostly names) and then you can use these words in conversations to acquire info, progress quests and unlock content. It's still a work in progress and I'm still figuring out the best way to do it without complicating things too much.
Tl;Dr: I'm working on a lot of things. I have the whole game's story planned and a more detailed scene by scene story for the 1st adventure. First porn scene is also done. Now I'm working on programming the core mechanics.
