I had to clean up my father's corpse.
First, Comet went to the bathroom to drain the blood, then separated the corpse into appropriate sizes.
After that, she brought trash bags and put the pieces in. It wasn't neat. The bags tore, perhaps due to the weight, so she had to wrap them several times.
When she opened the refrigerator to put the bags in, there wasn't enough space. She moved the freezable items to the freezer. As she pressed the bags into the newly created empty space, it was already dawn.
Her dress got dirty, and she was exhausted, so she took a leisurely shower and ate an early breakfast. After doing the dishes, she put the bed sheets in the washing machine and cleaned the house with a wet mop.
The doorbell rang when Comet had finished cleaning up the corpse and was sitting on the sofa drinking coffee.
"Who is it?"
A man in a suit stood beyond the door, holding a Magic wand.
"I'm from the Disaster Response Committee."
"Oh... I guess I should open the door then?"
"It would be appreciated."
"Just a moment."
Comet felt like she was sweating. She quickly glanced around the living room and opened the front door.
"The house is a mess, please bear with it."
"Excuse me."
Comet gestured for him to sit on the living room sofa and headed to the kitchen.
"Would you like some coffee? I don't have any other drinks."
"No, thank you."
"Ah, is that so."
Comet turned around and returned to the living room.
"So, what brings you here...?"
"The committee has agreed to provide protection for the families of key high-ranking government officials. So, I'm here to explain this to the family members of Ban Min-hye, the Social Budget Review Officer."
The official looked around the house, searching for those family members. When his gaze swept over the kitchen, Comet quickly said,
"Then that family is me."
The official turned to look at Comet, then took out a notebook from his pocket. After reading the contents, he looked at Comet again and cautiously asked.
"Son?"
"Yes. Son on paper."
The official looked at Comet's chest area and the dress she was wearing, then tapped his notebook and fell into thought. It was a slightly awkward gesture.
"...What is your occupation?"
"Which occupation?"
"Both."
"It's embarrassing to say, but I was an accountant undergoing an external audit, but I quit after I changed, so I'm unemployed now. The other one is Necromancer."
"I think that's right."
"Right?"
"Yes. Is your father not home right now?"
Comet was sweating.
"I wonder, where could he have gone?"
"Pardon?"
"Just kidding. Haha. Actually..."
Comet twisted her side hair.
"He left a few days ago for no reason and hasn't returned. I'm worried he might have been attacked by a Monster."
"Ah..."
The atmosphere sank, and a moment of silence flowed. Comet finished the coffee she had made before the official arrived. It was bitter.
The official bowed slightly.
"I apologize for asking such a sensitive question so hastily."
"No, it's understandable. It's just, yeah. My father was just being himself until the end. More importantly, what kind of protection measures are we talking about?"
The official didn't want to delve too deeply into family matters, so he readily changed the subject. For whatever reason, it was a good thing for Comet.

"We've decided to partially open the underground bunker in Yeouido. If you move your residence there, the government will provide food, clothing, and shelter."
"So, I'll be living separately from my mother."
I know that the Ministry of Economy and Finance building is in Sejong City.
"Major administrative tasks have been moved from Sejong City to Seoul, so she's currently in Yeouido."
"Well, with communications down, it must be difficult to work from Sejong City."
Since the acting president and the assemblywoman going to Sejong City could mean abandoning Seoul, the officials must have come up to Seoul.
"I'll pack my bags now. If I'm going anyway, it's better to go quickly."
Comet got up from her seat.
"You can move in at a later date."
"No, I don't want to bother you."
Comet found a large bag in the master bedroom and took it out.
"There's no need to deliberately stay in an empty house either."
There wasn't much to pack. She packed her Magic knife and Soul orb, and after putting some clothes in the bag, there was nothing else she needed. There were many things in the house, but few she wanted to take.
Comet looked around the house for a moment, then left the front door with the official.
She saw about a dozen soldiers waiting.
Comet tilted her head and looked at the soldiers, then turned to the official. The official didn't seem to mind, and said nonchalantly.
"I'm not suited for solo combat, so additional security personnel have been assigned."
Hearing those words, Comet looked at the Magic wand the official was holding. Suddenly, she realized something.
"You're a Healer. You're a valuable person. I was too out of it to notice."
Comet twisted her side hair, pondered for a moment, and then readily got into the car. The car headed towards Yeouido. Security personnel followed. Through the car window, she saw shops with their shutters down and fallen trees passing by.
"If you have any questions about the protection measures, feel free to ask."
The Healer said that while sitting in the passenger seat and rummaging through documents.
"Questions? Hmm."
Since she would experience it soon anyway, she didn't have any major questions.
"Come to think of it, my father and mother are divorced, so legally, we're not family, are we?"
The Healer stopped taking out the documents and fell into thought.
"That's probably because it's being applied comprehensively. We need to focus on the purpose rather than being bound by procedures."
He didn't seem to know much, so it was a theoretical answer.
The Healer handed over several documents that had been pre-approved. Some were related to protection measures, and some were not.
"Currently, some areas of Yeouido have restricted access, so some procedures are required. Please fill in the information as you see it on the status screen."
Comet clicked the pen she received several times. She looked at the Healer, who returned a kind smile. Comet smiled back.
"If there's restricted access, it must be the National Assembly Building. Are we going to the underground bunker of the National Assembly?"
"It's a separate facility. It's nearby, though."
Comet nodded in agreement and scribbled with the pen.
[Character Information - Assimilation rate 10%]

"Your Assimilation rate is at the base level."
"It's difficult to raise due to the Necromantic Arts specialty. Thanks to that, my Stats are also at 10%, which is troublesome."
"Strength is...?"
"I'm a PVP user."
Comet suddenly became curious and looked at the Healer.
"But aren't I quite famous? My character build should be public."
"I'm sorry. I'm a light user, so I'm not familiar with that area."
Comet felt disturbed, as if she had become a game addict. Unfortunately, it was true.
The Healer organized the completed documents.
"Na Hye-sung, with this, you will be able to enter most restricted areas."
"Ah. You can call me Comet."
The Healer stopped talking and made eye contact. Comet smiled.
"Alright. Comet."

There was a protest in front of the National Assembly Building's main gate. Yeouido seemed to have been cleared of Monsters, as it was a peaceful scene.
"Have you had breakfast?"
"I did, but it was too early, so I'm a little hungry."
"Let's have a meal first."
The National Assembly cafeteria just tasted like a regular cafeteria. The only difference was that there were many exhausted and haggard people.
"It's more ordinary than I thought."
"It's sometimes delicious."
After finishing the meal and following the Healer's guidance, she discovered a user with a familiar appearance. Seeing her walking with aides was a somewhat unfamiliar sight, so Comet hesitated and stopped, unable to speak.
"Chairwoman!"
The Healer shouted, and the woman turned around.
"You've arrived. You've done well, so go and rest. Comet, come and talk to me."
The Healer left Comet behind and disappeared. Comet was somewhat dumbfounded.
"Comet, long time no see?"
"Yes, Mallang. It's been a while."
Hearing the answer, the woman laughed as if something was funny. The aides laughed along. Comet scratched her cheek awkwardly.
Upon closer inspection, some of the aides didn't seem to be laughing because they were genuinely amused.
"Any questions?"
"Are you asking on purpose? What is your occupation?"
"Alchemist."
Comet just stared without much reaction.
The woman licked her lips and added a word.
"Elected official."
Ah. A member of the national assembly.
Comet briefly recalled the various disgraceful acts this assemblywoman had committed in the game. Thinking about it, she seemed like the kind of person who would be an assemblywoman.
"I see. Mallang, you've found your calling. But I need to be informed about the protection measures."
The assemblywoman laughed again. As Comet looked again, most of the aides didn't seem to be laughing because they were genuinely amused.
Indeed.
Comet roughly understood the situation.
"Protection measures. Does a Necromancer who is ranked 1st in the job rankings and 13th in the overall rankings need protection?"
"...I don't, do I?"
In response to Comet's answer, the assemblywoman smiled and took out a cigarette and lit it. Comet inwardly expected to see an aide light it for her, but that didn't happen. It was a shame.
"It's not that you're unnecessary. It's just a waste to treat you the same as civilians. I'll let you come and go freely without security, so live comfortably. Is that satisfactory?"
"If you want me to be."
The assemblywoman shrugged and entrusted Comet's guidance to her aide.
"Anything else you're curious about?"
"I heard there are only about a dozen assemblywomen left, so Mallang must be incredibly busy right now, right?"
"That's right."
Comet twirled a strand of her side hair.
"Too busy to hang out with me here?"
"Is that a complaint?"
"No, not really. People need time to rest to be efficient. I'm just wondering what Mallang wants from me that she's doing this."
The assemblywoman flicked off her cigarette ash.
"Nothing."
Comet found it hard to shake off her suspicion. The assemblywoman playfully tapped Comet and smiled.
"I'm glad you look healthy. I'll be going now."
After the assemblywoman left, Comet was shown to her accommodations by the aide. The assigned room was a single room with basic furniture, so it seemed comfortable enough to live in.
Her mother came to visit after dinner, close to midnight. She looked tired, as if she had a lot of work.
"Missing, huh? That guy is a nuisance to the end."
"Father, yes, I guess so. We could have ended things on a better note."
"Don't bother searching for him. He's just a useless old man who couldn't take care of himself."
Comet scratched her cheek.
Her mother sighed deeply, lost in thought, then crossed her arms and stared at Comet intently.
"Did you customize your appearance yourself?"
"Ah, yes. The customization turned out well, right?"
Comet unnecessarily spun around, puffing up her dress, and gave a light bow.
Her mother's gaze shifted.
Short black hair. Red eyes. A cat-like face.
"It's quite good."
"Right?"
Her mother nodded and stood up.
"Tell me if you need anything."
"Yes."
After her mother left, Comet fiddled with a knife, then put on her coat and left the facility around midnight when the moon was up.
It was time for nighttime activities.
