if you listen closely to the ending, there's a guy talking in the back who makes her laugh, which i think is a real recording of her and josh. the echo on the laugh makes it seem like it's a distant memory replaying in her mind, and then while the violins play, she says "let's make a video to our future selves." and i think that goes really well with the song, because the song IS her future self, and it's a big contrast from where she was then and where she is now !

2022-08-10 18:37:40 +0000 UTCYess, I love how she connects this final song to the other songs and how she seems finally at peace with that relationship that made her so tired, forcing her to overanalyzing everything and ignoring red flags and the back and forth. But also she knows how the public and fans like to decode each song and her personal life, looking for the meanings and hidden layers and it's cool how she ended the album after pressing send on the emails she couldn't send, and basically said, here's my story, there's nothing left to decode in terms of the speculation about her relationships. Knowing how vicious the rumours were, she definitely took back her own narrative.
