WIP - Jack Lipsync Assignment

another animation assignment! I know it said lipsync and the post is a gif but i’ll have this go through a feedback phase before posting haha In the meantime though here’s what i’ve been busy on the side with. Just wanting to share here what I’ve been posting in the discord wip channel.

I’ve been wanting to do some lipsync so this assignment got me excited! I realized making this took me a while.

Starting out with the block phase, I went with poses that just popped in my head. Nothing too flashy.

But thank goodness I draw this guy way too much so I could skip to making tied down roughs which took me a bit! A lot of the time I was figuring out breakdown poses and then learning that some poses and movements did not work AT ALL.

At this point i spent a buttload of time fixing forms and the mouth shapes until it looked right to me. I have not much technical knowledge in animation so I had to go with what looked and moved right. I would like to improve on my acting though because as it stands, it moves kinda boring haha!

And just for kicks, here’s the isolated fx layer. Something that i dont think about that much when I animate.

also another bonus without the camera. Looks a bit weird but there was a bit where i drew the rest of his legs just to make sure they‘re somewhat planted ahaha!

This was a fun side thing! Gonna tie down that bg after i get some feedback on this!
