It's taken me waaay too long to figure out a cover for this chapter, and I went through about 12 different sketches on what to do before ultimately deciding on a Little Red Riding hood theme.
There's still a few more steps from here, which mostly consists of coloring, but I thought I'd explain the process so far. The first image is the rough thumbnail that I drew out digitally to try and figure out what I wanted compositionally. I had a bunch of thumbnails in my sketchbook of all these different concepts, but once this idea came into my head, the composition was pretty well formulating and I wanted to make sure it worked when drawn out. I also did a few more sketches on paper to make sure there weren't any other alterations.
The second picture is the pencils, which I based off of the initial thumbnail above. I had some really rough shapes at first to line everything up, and then started just sketching out where everything should go. Rosemary went through about 5 different poses.
Finally, the inks, which I've cleaned up here a little to get them ready for color. The bottom is all just hatched lines laid over each other to get that texture, and I used a bit of a dry brush technique on the trees.
