The structure of gaidens
Added 2025-04-15 21:14:11 +0000 UTCHey folks! This is brandon. We have some gaiden content from GDC that I'm not sure how best to structure, so I thought I'd ask for your input, and maybe that'll shape how gaidens work going forward as well.
As you may know, usually at GDC I go around and ask people a bunch of questions - this time I did it with specific theming so we didn't get the usual "talking about stuff" vibe, but I did do two separate 15 minute conversations that were that. Liz Ryerson also did that at slug world for another 15 minute chunk. Then she also did a "walking around the expo show floor and talking about all the booths there" thing.
The question for me is - though you don't exactly know the content - would you prefer these as individual very short (gaiden) episodes, which was my initial feeling, or as a longer katamari/hour and a half episode, which I think might appeal more to folks who have too much stuff to listen to in general. What appeals most to you?

Every long form is several short, also. Ps Is it better to ask one question a month or should I like minigun for a bullseye

2025-04-22 17:39:36 +0000 UTCI'd kind of like both? Which is a wishy-washy-ass answer to this, but as a fan of the gaidens, the idea of a big smørgåsbord excites me. And on the other hand, having more bite-sized IC in my feed is also enticing. So I'm no use. Side note, just to showcase my undecidedness even further: I loved Brandon's take on the Proust questionnaire, it made for one of the best gaidens yet. But I also don't want to see the loosy-goosier regular event chats (con-versations?). In short, ignore me, and do what you are most interested in, it seems like I'll enjoy it either way.

2025-04-15 22:23:44 +0000 UTCI would enjoy having a longer edit with them stitched together. I usually listen to more than one episode in a session, and I get into a different brain space during the GDC or other show episodes. Sometimes it's jarring to jump right back to the regular format
