Even delayed, a Bonus Credit will not be denied! Hear Frank and Jaffe talk about comics, Brandon and guests talk about movies, and Esper and Jaffe talk about comics and the minutiae of a turn of a very expensive card game. Plus, an update on how long it takes to flush everyone's toilet.
A SMALL DESCRIPTION OF EPISODES PULLED FROM:
(Ep. 356) Pre-show. Special guest ThorHighHeels got a new mic setup just to ensure proper vocal conveyance. Jaffe tells a quick story about a woman making a cup of coffee correctly in a particular kind of container. Frank isn’t banging on the table, but in his head, nobody can stop him.
(Ep. 356) Extended break. Frank continues exploring the phylums of the animal kingdom, finding a schizm in flatworm classification. Jaffe is doing some Bilbo Dirtbaggins. Special guest ThorHighHeels has an easier time speaking when there’s fewer people around, but fears a cat may affect nearby XLR cables.
(Ep. 361) Pre-show. Brandon explains why he’s allowed to wear an Ice Cube shirt even though he doesn’t listen to much of his solo work. Comics talk! Jaffe has an update on Shade the Changing Man for Frank. Special guest merritt k has brief connection issues.
(Ep. 361) Extended break. Brandon just watched that episode of The Simpsons where it’s Valentine’s Day and he keeps playing Monster Mash. Jaffe seeks updates on how long it takes everyone to flush their toilet. Frank shares a story about living in Atlanta.
(Ep. 361) Post-show. Movie talk! Brandon associates Special Guest merritt k with Canada, and as such asks about Canadian horror movies. Cronenbergs count. Splice is pretty cool, I had a good time with that one and I don’t normally watch many horror films. Jim Belushi is in Abraxas for like two seconds. Special Guest merritt k had a Clearly Canadian two months ago for the first time in like twenty years.
(Ep. 362) Pre-show. Movie talk! Brandon sometimes gets quite far into a film without realizing he’s seen it before. The protagonist of Lockout is completely insufferable. Special Guest Mathew Kumar is the world’s foremost Escape from LA defender.
(Ep. 362) Special Guest Host Esper Quinn ponders what would happen if Tommy Tallarico met Billy Mitchell, and does not come up with the phrase “Billommy Mitcherico” or even “Tomilly Tallaritchell” in the moment but is writing the show notes now so can easily put stuff like that in. Tommy has suffered quite a bit of loss and maybe we shouldn’t make fun of it.
Esper and Jaffe insist that you get full value for your patreon dollar by padding out the episode with talk on Steins Gate, Chainsaw Man, pausing movies for David Zaslav as a career, the importance of books like Absolute Superman in a balanced comic diet, Batgirl, Jaffe’s three favorite DC books right now, a comic made to be an A24 movie, probing thoughts on Batman villains, the Saul Goodman of Supervillains, The Penguin tv series, and teaching the phases of Magic the Gathering turn order.
