2023-12-05 21:30:57 +0000 UTCThere's a lot of Italians in the Bay Area historically. All the grocery stores in the rich neighborhoods have Italian names for a reason (Andronico's, etc). And there's North Beach and Nancy Pelosi. But there isn't a lot of "Italian food" because that was all invented in New York in the 20th century and brought back, and Italians are so proud of it because they're coping.
