I was just rewatching this and noticed that there’s a van in the apple pie tree video with a logo that says Crosses for Losses. I did a little googling, and apparently the man in the video, Greg Zanis, would construct crosses to honor people who were victims of shootings. The first mass shooting he built crosses for was Columbine. Unfortunately Greg passed away in 2020. Anyway, Jenny’s video is pretty old now, I’m sure no one will see this comment. But if you do, just know that Greg Zanis seemed like a very sweet man.

The Venus flytrap video is definitely not filmed in LA, at the start there's Canada Trust and Scotiabank in the background, which are only found in Canada, and in their hall the exit sign is an icon of a green running man, which is the standard in Canada, not the US. Based on the architecture my guess is it's Toronto.

I watched that reality show at the time and even then I thought her mom was kind of weird. I was pretty young, but even then I could see her mom wasn't very good at parenting. There were moments where you could tell she clearly knew all three girls consumed alcohol (although they cut any mention of drugs in the show) and they were like 15-16. She also had a weird culty thing going with their "prayer sessions" and the way she spoke about what their destiny was. Idk, I only saw it that one time, never even connected it to the Bling Ring thing until years later, and it made such an impression on me. It's no surprise at all to me that that's what was going on behind the scenes (and sometimes on camera)

if you want a pet lobster then crayfish are pretty much just tiny ones, there are even really small crayfish you can get too that are so cute >.< my partner keeps crayfish and shrimp in a couple tanks and they arent super difficult creatures to care for, their shrimp tank has some mini crayfish and some algae eaters and a few shrimp varieties, and with some real plants in there and plenty of hiding spaces it is basically its own functioning mini ecosystem. 10/10 would recommend if you are willing to learn about taking care of the little guys. if they have real plants and are comfy enough they even make little shrimp and crayfish babies and its so cute!!!!!!!!!

I apologize for commenting on such an old video, but I have CRUCIAL details about the large goofy tree. The moment I saw the tree pop up on my screen I experienced full-body chills because I quite literally drive past him every day on my way to work. Here’s the twist though, I live in Michigan, not Kentucky. This creates a few different possibilities for the lore of this giant tree. 1) There are multiple goofy trees in existence. OR 2) This giant goofy tree has been resold AGAIN and was shipped out to a small town in Michigan. Anyways, hopefully, this provides everyone with some much-needed giant tree lore.

Everyone with social anxiety should know that you can often hit * while recording a voicemail to open up an options menu! Genuinely uninterested in reading 222 comments to see if anyone else pointed this out, but depending on the service provider of the person you called, you can often hit * to erase and re-record, listen to what you've already said, set a priority level for the VM, etc. Sometimes it can be the # symbol instead of *, but yeah. Pro-tip. Very helpful when you have a panic attack at the mere thought of picking up a phone. Just saying, hopefully Alexis knew this and didn't leave 80 weird voicemails. Nightmare.

So I went to go watch the alexis neiers video, and then the algorithm recommended me this video: "Alexis Neiers on Drugs, Prison, and the Bling Ring: Profiles by VICE" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FH9-S6ntIBQ) and y'all. I was about to cry. Turns out she spent most of her teen years, including the filming of this reality show, on very serious drugs and was in and out of prison and rehab for a long time. But, she managed to turn things around, get sober, start a family, and is now a writer for Vice about youth and addiction and is a counselor at a recovery center. If you click on the video I just mentioned you'll see a thoughtful, kind, compassionate, mature woman help the man who got her addicted through recovery and sobriety. I still think the Nancy Jo voicemails video is funny, but I'm also so proud of this woman who was exploited by her family and by a major television network and managed to channel it into saving others. You fucking rock girl.

So the actual good version of the whole "I created a homunculus" thing is this russian youtube channel where a guy uses some well-done VFX to recreate the medieval alchemist Paracelsus' recipe for a homunculus, involving human DNA and an egg. The guy plays it completely straight, but it's clearly a brilliant long-form art project, and not intended to be taken seriously. The fact that her insane theory that 2020's colour was based on The Great Gatsby cover art turned out to be correct is so immensely satisfying, and the fact that she gets to be a part of this thing that seems so insignificant yet she is so passionate about is just incredibly wholesome. Someone might have mentioned this already, but just in case... the camera thing is less the color saturation and more the white balance. It seems that whatever webcam you're using has an auto white balance, and thus it is constantly changing to compensate. If you are able, I would set it to tungsten.

If you look at the stains on his sleeves and chest, I think tree guy's shirt was inside out because he was painting. He either used a spare shirt so much that he had to flip it inside out to keep using it longer, or he doesn't want to change shirts and just reverses it depending on usage. Jenny you should look into vampire shrimp. They are like mini lobsters and grow 4-6 inches. They wave their claws around to wave food into their mouths and are super charismatic, plus they are freshwater and pretty easy to keep happy.

I'm actually going to put a content warning on this comment: animal cruelty. Yeah, you'll see it in grocery stores in seaside cities or in fish markets. You pick the lobster you want from a tank, they rubberband the claws and just give it to you. Also seafood restaurants. Same thing, big tank of live lobsters in the dining area, and they take it to the kitchen. The reason why they're sold live is that boiling them alive is the traditional way to cook them. Not sure why, but I think it's just that their meat spoils quickly. You freeze the lobster for a few minutes before cooking, and supposedly the freeze puts them to sleep/into a coma so they don't feel anything during the boiling process. After a brief freeze you just plunge them directly into the boiling water. The worst thing though is that when you drop them into the boiling water, air escapes from their shell and it sounds exactly like a scream. So basically you're cooking it alive while it 'screams.' I'm sure other animals suffer before being cooked, but the spectacle of it is pretty effed up. I'm not a vegetarian, but I don't eat lobster for this reason.

Loved this ramble! I'm not super into youtube so I didn't know about any of these (except the lobster one I think.) Even being into MLP I didn't realize people made costumes like that. AGREED that My Immortal is obviously a satire. It's wild to me that this is up for debate. The sonic video looked earnest though. In regards to the open casting call for the sequels, this is the same thing they did for the prequels. A relative of mine worked at Skywalker Ranch in the 90s (but not on Star Wars) and told me they did an open casting call for young Anakin. He had two boys around the right age so he submitted auditions. It was later turned into a promotion for the film as a behind the scenes thing I think.

Omigosh, that lobster video is so cool! Seeing the little one get stronger and healthier over time. Having a partner keep an aquarium is cool sometimes, but they are kinda loud with that low pump hum, and can go downhill quickly. my friend owns a quad suit (a four legged pursuit) and though they look insanely cute, they are insanely hard to wear. they cause alot of back and arm pain and most people can't wear them for more than a few minutes without over heating. that and a good 'regular' fursuit will set you back a few thousand but quad suits are only made by a few makers who charge alot more for them (case they are hard to make and look good)

Oh wow. Adam the Woo is such a throwback for me. I used to watch a ton of his stuff with my dad because he was interested in getting to see all the behind the scenes stuff he wished he could have snuck into on our family Disney trips and I loved getting to see the things that were just left behind by theme parks. It's been years since I watched his stuff, though. Him slipping into the Nickelodeon building was ne of my favorites along with the triceratops experience.
