I just finished FFXVI and immediately listened to this. The Bahamut fight rules. Torgal rules. Chain Gang All-Stars rules. Clive is the sexiest. This episode ruled.

2023-07-09 03:10:08 +0000 UTCI considered hearing that the Bahamut fight is that good a spoiler so I had to stop listening lol (I have avoided all marketing), will get to it when I eventually finish the game!!

2023-07-06 17:57:45 +0000 UTCFun episode!! Though by the end it’s unclear how the panel feels about the game overall. Might be helpful if next time you ask them to assign individual numerical scores to the graphics, sound, gameplay, story, and value-per-dollar. Just so it’s clear. Who’s with me
2023-07-05 21:36:53 +0000 UTC(brandon:) I feel like the purpose was less an unbiased review than a discussion about how to discuss something that's interesting but flawed, but I haven't listened to the whole thing yet!

2023-07-05 03:40:47 +0000 UTCThis was an interesting one. I think a glaring weakness of the guest selection is that all three were - in their written reviews - very critical of the game. It probably would have been a lot more balanced if there were at least one person with a very positive appraisal. Maybe Michael Higham, for a seasoned podcaster? Or Jen Glennon from Inverse? I enjoyed it anyway.

2023-07-04 01:47:20 +0000 UTCHoly smokes, what a great discussion! If you told me that Ash, Gita and Giovanni have their own dedicated final fantasy podcast, I would believe it. Everyone played off each other so well and clearly lots to talk about that it felt like it was over so quickly! I've not had the opportunity to play FF16 but getting to listen to more nuanced discussion around the successes and shortcomings of the game instead of gleaning bits here and there from the web was worthwhile. It sure seems like a mess in many ways, but I would be lying if the descriptions and enthusiasm around the eikon battles didn't make me curious. Anything that you can see the promise of that ultimately isn't able to bring everything together to reach their full potential can be so unfortunate. Nice job on hosting this week (as always), Jaffe. You really balanced when to speak up well with just letting the panel go. That lightning round was the perfect cherry on top haha
