(brandon:) thanks! I mostly complain about it on the show because I have to explain why I can't play new stuff right now, but I can definitely tell it's getting better over here. so at this point I'm more just waiting to be sure, and trying not to use/reinjure it. but if it takes a turn for the worse I'll look into this! I appreciate the thought!!

2023-05-26 23:19:33 +0000 UTCBrandon — I feel kinda weird recommending this, but it might help you with your wrist issues. I had progressively worse thumb pain in my right hand from 2015-2019. I saw a certified hand therapist in 2018 who recommended an MRI scan I couldn’t afford and then referred me to a physical therapist. The physical therapy helped relieve the symptoms a bit but didn’t result in any real change. In 2019 I found a website/YouTube channel called 1HP that worked with esports players to manage their health and offered a video call consultation program. Honestly, I was skeptical about it. I hadn’t had success with seeing a PT in person and had never done any telehealth services, the 1HP team doesn’t have a great on-camera presence in their YouTube videos, and the whole “doctors but for gamers” vibe wasn’t my favorite, BUT! My experience was a complete success. I had a few video calls with Matt, who created a hand exercise and stretching program for me that helped me make an almost complete recovery after 6 weeks. He also worked with me to make sure I could afford it — I think in total I paid about $200. I still do the exercises a couple times a week and haven't had any issues since. They have a whole section on their website about wrist pain with free recommendations and videos (https://1-hp.org/gaming-wrist-pain/), and they also still offer their telehealth services, so yeah, maybe check it out! Matt also wrote up my case if you're curious about what the program he gave me looked like (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ctf5Hqc1OMAc-mQ4N1GHmOCAm67unfKxJDBStsSKNOs/edit?usp=sharing).

2023-05-26 20:07:13 +0000 UTCIt's always fun listening to a podcast of people having a good time! Can't get past the handle on the gamecube level of "non-gaming feature" for what I have enjoyed most from consoles in the past. It's mostly the fun details of holding a different button on the controller to have the boot music change on the gamecube, the background stacks mirroring the memory card saves on the PS2, unique themes for the UI, and that degree of thing that I enjoy. More of a novelty or tidbit than anything substantial. And heck yeah to Brandon's recommendation. Thank you for always using your platform to speak up for trans rights and make it clear that trans rights are essential to be fought for and protected.

2023-05-25 03:37:48 +0000 UTCYo if you’re watching Tubi with ANYONE, you should watch Trailer War under the Drafthouse section on there. Some tasty b-movie bits for a laugh.

2023-05-22 16:27:31 +0000 UTCNintendo's pseudo-PDA features they added to the (3)DS were so cute. You can feel the execs being amazed they got to sell people little computers too. Making you use a little computer for some reason now hangs on in Pokemon games, which are pretty much entirely made of things it doesn't seem like were really thought out.

2023-05-22 08:44:43 +0000 UTCI have been saying "I blazed/gobbled/guzzled that game" for beating a game very fast (in terms of days/play sessions- not so much hrs) and likely because I enjoyed it a lot. 100% a title often comes out as "no life'ing" it. It was the only game or activity I did for a time. I also say I finished it when I played something for the sake of just feeling the need to see the credits. For my friend circle, the who shot J.R. was Bravely Default's late game "E8" section as we called it. For something that upset almost everyone that I knew playing the title at the time of release, I couldn't believe that this didn't elicit the same reaction in Japan. It was puzzling to us how this stayed a secret for the whole 2 yrs we were waiting for the game.
