Holy shit, this post is 3 years old? 😂 Well, I've been eyeing this listing in the rambles master post for a while and finally felt in the mood to sit down for a viewing. I thought it was funny when Jenny was like "are spoilers ok? what if someone was just experiencing this as their first viewing of Solo?" because that's exactly what I did. 😂 I found it funnier that I was being introduced to characters and then immediately informed by Jenny that they were going to die in 10 minutes. Well, thanks for an entertaining experience. ^-^

I feel conflicted about this, on one hand this commentary was fun and I appreciate that Jenny took the time to do it as it was very entertaining, it's especially nice having a voice in my ear that echoes my complaints about the length of this movie throughout the runtime but on the other hand I've now seen Solo twice! I really would like more of these though, it would be fun and good excuse to rewatch some more movies, as long as it's not land before time or it's many sequels.

I love Star Wars but I haven't been even a little interested in watching Solo for even a moment of the past 3 years. Luckily, my city is in a lockdown again and I'm out of other new Jenny content, so here I am finally watching this movie that I know won't feel like a Star Wars movie at all, spending 92 minutes of my saturday night in a constant state of disappointment. Thanks, Jenny, for inevitably making this more bearable! (I will report back if I happen to love the movie, so don't expect to hear from me again lol)

This was really great. I quickly mixed your audio with the original and threw the combined file onto my Plex. I might as well have been listening to you doing a real commentary track on the Blu-ray, and it was awesome. I know it's been a year now, but you should really do more of these. They don't have to be for films you hated like Solo, but even for things you're enthusiastic about would be super fun. I think people would really enjoy just hearing you talk about why you like them. Watching with this commentary was the first time I saw Solo, and I can't imagine watching it straight, I would have just turned it off. The "Han is Corellian" thing always bugged me, too, because the only mention of Corellian anything in the OT is when Han says: " I've outrun Imperial starships. Not the local bulk cruisers mind you, I'm talking about the big Corellian ships now." Nothing about that line implies that the Falcon is Corellian, or that Han is. If anything it implies that what we call "Imperial Star Destroyers" are probably the Corellian ships Han is talking about.

Also, in the first card game, Han loses his non-existent ship, so he owes Lando a ship. Everyone including Lando just immediately forgets about it.

One of my objections to this movie is the opposite of Jenny's, which seems weird. It seemed to me in Empire Strikes Back that Han and Lando actually had been friends, but in Solo they don't like each other and don't look like they will ever be friends.

The only reason I watched the movie was bc your commentary came out, & I think it made my first time watching it WAY more bearable than it would’ve been otherwise, because WOW is bad. Also the trench scenes & the whole Thandie train sequence felt ripped from Firefly, wtf was that about??

That was great. I did break it into two viewings, your stamina is above par. I had no idea about the script reworking, and now a lot more makes sense. Especially the opening act which I see is 100% throwaway now. Maybe they could kill them off after season one of Disney+ Solo (GOT style)? But it all seems way more gratuitous after the fact. We can only hope it's all explained in "Duo: The Adventures of Jimmy Scrambles - A Star Wars Story"

I really liked this! You seemed worried about not talking enough, but I doing other things while I watched this so I didn't need it to be super dense. I also think its funny Solo and Infinity War both have major yet completely forgettable antagonists named "Proxima"

You know, one of the problems with this movie is that when the guy playing Han says "I'm a terrible person" you don't really believe it. He's just got too sweet of a smile. Harrison Ford could make you believe Han was actually a bastard. I don't believe at all that Alden's Han is a bastard.

Even at that it was sort of a toss up which was more interesting: the movie or that little graphic thing that shows you where the plane is on a map. I have tried to watch Solo twice so far and neither time got past the opening action sequence, turning it off once during the speeder (?) chase sequence and once at the end of that sequence. With this commentary - audio only - I made it past the death of the initial heist team even though it's got big sections of silence while waiting for mandatory action scenes to end. This commentary is more engaging than the movie *even when Jenny is quietly sipping a drink for two minutes*. I'm restarting now and will actually watch the whole movie. While also listening to the commentary, I'm not crazy, no way I can last the entire movie by itself.

I’ve never even been into commentary tracks before but that was fun. I never looked up the extent of the reshoots so you pointing out when and how much the original cut and reshoot clashed kept it interesting. I would ask for a Rogue One track in the future but there are plenty of bad movies that are more fun for this kind of thing, and having to commentate one mediocre Star Wars spin-off is already enough as is. Overall I rate it as a real good, built tough, American-made audio track/10
