Ehhhh I’m sterile and I feel like that’s a real stretch. I doubt any reasonable filmmaker would draw comparisons between infertile ppl and an organ-harvesting doll

I love how highly caffeinated Jenny is on this video 😅 then momentarily reflective: 'Flamenco Buzz come back to me...'

a few little paper tears on the porg for one take would've been a nice touch

That “pin” gag once again proved what a deceptively good actor you are! Loved it.
Also, do the sentient ashes of cremated toys become Etch-A-Sketches? Trapped for all eternity in silent agony, like the Metallica “One” video? Shudder...

Toy Story 4 was about parenting/grandparenting.
Woody was now the grandparent and he had to let go to someone else. Time to retire and travel the country in an RV!
Also, the talky doll represented someone who couldn't have children but wanted them so badly. In the end she ended up "adopting"
Gabby getting a child doesn't undermine the journey of self discovery, its about stages in life. People want to have kids, but once they do that and successfully have adult grown kids, its hard for them to figure out what to do next, since they devoted their whole lives to that task. Gabby never had that experience, so thats why she had to get it in the story. If you've ever known people who cant have children due to medical reasons, this is directly relateable. And also, once you have your own children, you'll understand the rest.

I love these movie reviews because even if I don’t totally agree you always make me think of the movie differently. Between this and Jack Saints’ video on Toy Story I’ll probably never think of this series the same way again!

The ending scene with Gabby Gabby was probably one of the poorest moments of the 4 movies but only because the parents would've said.
"Oh no, honey you don't know where that's been! Go put it back where you found it sweetie."
or
"Oh no, honey that's not yours. Let's go put it in the lost and found, so whoever is missing it will find it again! OR we could donate it to that antique store across the street, it looks pretty old how's that sound?"

Alright Jenny. You've inspired/forced me to think more in depth about this series that I've taken for granted and love so much than I've wanted to, and we finna fight. I'm a cup of coffee away from writing a full essay covering every point you made. How the children ARE meant to be seen a a loose, incomplete, childlike metaphor of God that I actually love. How Toy Story 2's theme was such: Being loved by a kid, for however long, is better than just enduring in a museum forever, which I think is a good theme. All the movies are about Love, which I love, even though that's a little vague.
Anyway, loved this video, you kill it every time.

Oh, and I watched it at a drive-in and got bit by a fire ant, which i directly blame Pixar for.

Alright but can we talk about gabby gabby’s villain arc? So she gets info from Spoon Boy to emotionally manipulate Woody, which is framed as sinister. Then she corners him with her goons and, though manipulation and the genuine fear of physical aggression, she basically forces him to have surgery to fix her Toy Disability. Like it was really creepy and villainous and the movie was 100% framing it as such. And then her plan works and she gets rewarded for her little organ harvesting scheme and the movie frames it as beautiful. It was like thematic whiplash.

A part of me was hoping the big porg would unexpectedly look up when she mentioned it. Like as part of the horrible revelation that the toy uprising has begun.

Looking forward to watching this video as soon as I finish my fanfic about GigaPorg coming to life with the goal of recovering all the stolen sporks from Galaxy’s Edge and returning them “home”. They may or may not talk.
