State of the Game: Do Your Duty

Evening all, it's time for a new update! v0.17.0 is now up for the public here, and v0.180 is now out for patrons! We got in a fair bit more than I was expecting for this cycle, particularly in thanks to our freelancers.

For starters, we have two new CGs from artist Vin4ART! One for the Seeder encounter at the Hard Tip Monastery, and one for one of your meetings with your XO aboard the ship. Now granted, doing artwork of the player and XO is a little difficult given the thousands of possible variations of each, but I think you'll find that we've found a way to make a worthwhile addition to the scene nonetheless. Additionally, we've got 20 new duty assignments written by a new freelance writer, Pyksies, who is themselves the dev of an adult text-based sci-fi game (which you can find here). In addition to that, there's another 40 duty assignments written up which are only awaiting final entry into the game itself.

As for my part, aside from getting all of that work into the latest release, I believe I've successfully implemented a much superior 'replay mode' system for the game, and converted many scenes to work for it. It doesn't include every scene, particularly those with some extra complexity including pretty much anything involving a combat encounter. None of those involve any sexy times though, so I think you'll find most of what you might be looking for waiting for you in the office. For the time being, scenes which are already replayable at their original locations remain there.

When it comes to our next release...well, I've got 40 duty assignments waiting for implementation with my name on them, and that's going to take a few days. Once that's done however, it'll be time to really start digging into the plotlines for our new Schen and Happee star systems. Also, it's been a few since the last art pack update for Overseers, and since we've had a few new items now you should be able to expect the next version of that this weekend. Game Functions:

Functionality added to support Scene Replay Mode:
Scene replays from the Captain's office reorganized.
While in Replay Mode, you will not be able to access the maps or the crew list.
Scene checks requiring currency, ship upgrades, or crew requisitions can be automatically passed in Replay Mode. Additionally, choices which might normally affect XO Relationship, Liberator/Infiltrator choices, etc. will have no effect.
Scenes added to replay mode:
Seedcarrier's second scene. Previous replayable Seedcarrier scenes adjusted for the new system.
Everroots University scenes 1-4.
Sage Lantana scenes 1-4.
Choker scenes 1-3.
Victorious Athletes scenes 1-5.
Admiral Clausen scenes 2-3.

Art Content:
