Go FVR: this was my favorite episode of both Season 2 and the show so far. Man, what a masterclass in storytelling. When the four separate plots all joined together in that driving sequence, it highlighted just how clunky the same device was used in 'Twenty Years to Midnight', but also how relatable and effective all these characters are. I actually found myself worrying for Dr. Venture (and cried a single 'no' for HELPER), but most to my surprise, I'm invested in Dean's attempts at wooing Triana (it helps that Dean is, like, genuinely nice- or seems to be) and I actually really like Kim and wanna see her turn into a supervillain. So a while back, I complained about the Idiot Ball, and how at times it seems like the writers are pushing just how dumb Dr. Venture is, but I feel like this episode was a perfect example of the characters being stupid, but not out of character. When Dr. Venture realizes just how fucked up things are, I was very entertained because he's such a 'I don't care about anything' character that whenever he sits up and actually matches his emotions to what other people are feeling, it's like a breath of fresh air. Everyone was at top form in this episode... this was also one of the few moments where I bought the Monarch as a supervillain (his exchange with Brock was particularly fun, down to the expressions and his comments- 'Nice ass, Sampson' pushes my 'The Monarch is bi' theory forward and I'm glad for that), and I think it's a sign that in an episode jampacked with so many cool moments, they still found a way to put in some lines for Dr. Orpheus (his scene with Triana really made me believe they're a family). I feel like this episode combined with 'Tag Sale You're It' is a great meal to get people to understand not just what Venture Bros is, but the lengths it goes to in storytelling. I am in love with this show. Thank you so much for introducing me to it!

Lots of good talk on the early days of the Internet. Really excited for the eventual Mission Hill episodes.
