Go FVR: I gotta say, considering the amount of things I liked in this episode, I'm surprised by how much I didn't like the episode itself. Oh, I loved the faces, I loved the Monarch book, I loved the giant hair dryer, mecha-shiva, Dr. Venture's commentary, the Guild and the intricacies of how they work, but I didn't love the episode itself, perhaps because a lot of the central mystery revolved around something we only really got a grasp of in the last third of the episode. It wasn't bad and unenjoyable, it just felt like a lot of 'getting to the fireworks factory', and once we got there (by showing the Guild at its full power) things got super interesting. It was just a bit of a slog to get there.
