Added 2024-11-08 14:00:10 +0000 UTCGarrett and non theater kid has seen this movie dozens of times. Shawn a theater kid has never seen it before. What do they think of this 1975 cult classic musical?

2025-03-26 02:49:23 +0000 UTCThis is a month ago, so no idea if theyโll see this but they didnโt mention and I thought this was cool: Meat Loaf played Eddie in the original stage show, and since Dr. Scott is his uncle, he also played him and just put glasses and a beard on. In the movie, Dr. Scott just speak-sings in his song, but Meat Loaf full belts that song and I love it more, you can hear it on the cast recording. Whenever I see the play, I always hope they do the double up cause I think itโs funny

2024-11-14 20:12:50 +0000 UTCYou guys would love Phantom of the Paradise (1974). It's a 70s rock recreation of phantom of the opera. The music is great and it is BONKERS.

2024-11-13 09:25:21 +0000 UTCWhen I first saw Repo the genetic opera, even in what 2009? I was like "garret either loves this or hates it". Its cheesey and fun, but yeah haha.

2024-11-12 04:52:49 +0000 UTCJust to clarify, the voice singing "Science Fiction, Double Feature" is Richard O'Brian's. I wanna say Patricia Quinn was singing but they dubbed over her lips for some reason

2024-11-12 02:06:19 +0000 UTCagree! I think he would add a much needed different perspective as far as movie choices go โ nothing against Rocco or Shawnโs movie taste, they like great stuff and movie club is still great! But when Derrick was on the show, I liked that he brought a wildcard element to it genre wise and would bring Rocco and Shawn out of their comfort zones and into darker/weirder fare. I think Garrett could bring the same thing (tho Iโd also love to see Derrick hop back on the show every now and then, even just as an occasional guest movie pick like with dream scenario)

2024-11-09 05:39:48 +0000 UTCI loved the music but I honestly had a hard time hearing what the fuck anyone was saying so a lot of what was going on went right over my head. I think I'd still give it 2 out of 5.

2024-11-08 16:52:18 +0000 UTCI love this movie, and similarly try to watch it every Halloween. I've also seen the stage show (The Rocky Horror Show) multiple times, and the audience "script" is to a level where it's almost like a pantomime to amount the actors respond back. Great movie, great episode!

2024-11-08 15:33:31 +0000 UTCi'm glad i'm not the only square who didn't love the "shadow cast" aspect that every rep screening has. I saw it for the first time at an Alamo Drafthouse before Covid and felt like such a dud thinking "I just want to watch the movie!" as all these actors were running around and toast was flying over my head
