How to use Launch control in my TCR cars...
Added 2024-07-05 17:05:00 +0000 UTCUpdated for 1.1 cars...
I received recently some questions how launch control works on my TCR cars, so I think it would be nice to create something like a tutorial :)

Launch control on both car is intended to simulate the real launch procedure as close to real life as possible. On all three cars, the LC is bound to CSP Extra F button. I suggest to bind it somewhere on the steering wheel, easily accessible, preferably with left thumb. To make this work as intended, you need the clutch pedal and handbrake. Clutch pedal is very welcomed, but the whole procedure works with autoclutch as well. Handbrake can be either a button (on/off) or a lever with a sensor (0-100%) Both should work.
Launch control theory
Launch control helps with the starting procedure by reducing max RPM to lower value. The LC button needs to be held in order to restrict revolutions of the engine to 5200 rpm and will automatically disengage when car reaches 70 km/h, or when the LC button is released before reaching 70 km/h. If the front wheels are not in working temperatures, slight wheelspin can appear even with LC on.
General launch control procedure (clutch+handbrake)
Stop the car in your starting spot or press "wheel" to get to your grid possition.
Press and hold the Launch Control button.
Press the clutch to 100%.
Engage 1st gear.
Pull the handbrake to 100%
Apply full throttle (revs will be restricted to 5200rpm).
Modulate clutch around the bite point to increase the turbo pressure, don't let the engine stall (best results are somewhere around 30% of clutch)
When green lights are on, release the handbrake, then slowly start releasing the clutch from the bite point with LC button still pressed.
Modulate clutch to ensure there is no wheelspin and engine stall if necessary.
When car reaches around 50-60 km/h release the LC button.
The procedure is over and you should fly to the T1 :)
Assisted Launch procedure (autoclutch+handbrake button)
Stop the car in your starting spot or press "wheel" to get to your grid possition.
Press and hold the Launch Control button.
Engage 1st gear.
Press and hold the handbrake button (or pull the handbrake if you have one)
Apply throttle but be carefull not to move the car with too much power (needs some practice before trying in online race!)
When green lights are on, release the handbrake with LC button still pressed and press the gas pedal to 100%
The car will automatically engage the clutch to keep best revs
Launch control tips and tricks
work with clutch is the most important here for the succesful launch. While in the 1st gear and the handbrake at 100%, you should modulate the clutch near the bite point to increase the turbo pressure. The higher the turbo pressure, the more power at the lauch.
Be carefull when playing with the clutch because if you will release it to soon or will apply too much torque to the gearbox, your car will move and you will get penalty. It needs some practice to find the sweetspot.
All three cars have dedicated Launch control display page. They look different but the idea is the same. If all the conditions are met, Cupra will tell you that the car is ready for launch, the same at Elantra, if you will do all the steps properly, all the values which are necessary will be green.
default LC page in Cupra
ready to launch - 1st gear engaged, handbrake at 100%, throttle at 100%, clutch around the bite point, boost somewhere in the middle, READY message green.
default LC page in Elantra
ready to launch - 1st gear engaged, handbrake at 100% (not visible in dash), throttle at 100%, clutch around the bite point, boost somewhere in the middle

default LC page in Audi

ready to launch - 1st gear engaged, handbrake at 100%, throttle at 100%, clutch around the bite point, boost somewhere in the middle, READY message green.
Note
If the multiplayer server is set in a way that it is not possible to engage the 1st gear before the start, it is not possible to use the launch control procedure, but you can still use LC button (Extra F) to limit the RPM of the engine at the start of the race.

2024-08-19 08:27:18 +0000 UTCThanks!. Do you plan to make a third car for the TCR '24? For example the Audi RS3 LMS?
