Open the context menu of any video and select Add the channel to the new subscription group. The group will be pinned on the sidebar. The respective context menu should be explicitly enabled via Settings/General/Context menu
- Improved anonymous experience (no account selected). Added fully functional Subscriptions and Channels sections

2024-10-10 01:20:33 +0000 UTCThanks very much for this update. Of course, you had mentioned it in here earlier, and I saw the reference to it for the 23.80 beta version. But I'll always wait for the stable versions, and so I installed 24.14 today. I have heard of PocketTube, but I have never used or even seen it, so I didn't really know what to expect. I was rather expecting that the folders on the sidebar would produce lists of the channels added to them -- so "Oh, my," what a surprise to see how it actually worked. So, the folders show the videos from the channels that have been added, with the newest released videos first. To me, that's essentially like the action of the "Notifications" section -- but of course, the Notifications section is quite limited. And thus, it's like having a "notifications" section for whatever subjects I build into my folders -- "Wow!" That is going to be incredibly useful. I have mentioned how I have spent considerable amounts of time on my desktop computer "collecting" videos for SmartTube, so I wouldn't have to spend much time finding videos to play -- and this ought to free me from that kind of thing. And "it has nothing controlled by YouTube," to the greatest extent possible. So, "just wonderful." The only fly in my personal ointment is that one of the channels I get notifications from is for its "live" videos -- even though I'm usually getting to them after they have finished the live broadcasts. But it appears that no "live" videos will show in the new folders in the sidebar. So, not quite an additional feature request -- that's something I can get around easily enough. But I've spent a few hours today building a bunch of folders, going through my channels and videos in the home page, and so on -- and getting things added to folders. So far, so good -- and it looks like there's enough flexibility built in so that I can move things around, edit some names, and otherwise get things set up in the best manner to meet my needs. Again, thanks very much for this release -- it's massive in terms of how much more useful SmartTube will be for the way I use YouTube as a "streaming service" that I spend most of my daily TV time watching.
