June 2024 Monthly Update

Hello lovely patrons!

Welcome to our newest monthly update where we update you on all things Two and a Half Studios. As always, these will come out every month on the 6th (AEST).

May went incredibly fast with the launch of A Date with Death's Kickstarter, which now only has 8 days left! These kind of campaigns always fly by. We're really excited for it to finish up, and after a couple of weeks funds will hit our account and we'll be able to send out surveys!

A Date with Death - Beyond the Bet

Currently, we have finished two new CGs for Beyond the Bet, with another ~2 currently in the works. The one we're working on now is the second optional NSFW scene, which comes with a lot of variation. We expect this one to take some time still, but we're making very good progress towards completing all CGs.

We have roughly 4-5 to go after this one, as well as all the custom rewards that will come from the Kickstarter.

Writing & Outlining

Since last month's update, we've had HUGE progress! The first two days of the DLC are now written and edited, and we're working on the third new day, day 8! We couldn't be happier with our speed, and we believe writing will only take us another 1-2 months total.

Here's a very confusing screenshot you may need to open in another tab to view properly! We decided that if you've installed the NSFW patch, it'll also add some other choices throughout Beyond the Bet. You can see two of those choices in red, above.

Mostly the patch will add the two NSFW scenes, but we couldn't help but want to add some more options throughout as well. We hope you enjoy them!

Our planning/writing spreadsheets are a huge mess of choices and dialogue, and we wouldn't have it any other way.

For example, here's some conversations that can stem from ONE choice.

Programming & Beta

We have completed programming on day 1 of Beyond the Bet, and also finished up with our testing of it! It will be released as a beta for players this month.

Voice Acting

We are currently recording day 1 of the original game. It should be done in the next week-ish, and then all lines will be handed over to our wonderful editor C.L to trim, edit, and put in game.

Our aim is to release the English voice acting in time for Beyond the Bet's release in December, but for now we can't guarantee either way. Japanese voice acting will likely take many months longer, due to having to be fully translated first of all.

Kickstarter

 There's just 8 days left to support us on Kickstarter! It's honestly been overwhelming in the best of ways, and we're so excited to be able to work on this DLC full time now.

Emrys' (our resident catboy) route is on the way!

The developers are already over 20,000 words into his route, with a planned total of approx. 50,000. Once this route is mostly complete, we'll also be looking to help hire an additional editor/writer.

Astralis Publishing Title - Cage of Roses

For those who haven't heard, we're publishing the gothic yuri vamprire VN Cage of Roses by Ebi-hime!

A haunting gothic romance set in the 19th century. Follow Meike, a young woman from an impoverished noble family, as she’s swept off her feet by the mysterious Magdalena: a vampire who possesses a dark secret.

It is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous and we are so happy to be supporting the release through marketing! Honestly, I just want to play it myself right now...
