2020 Patreon + Channel Update

Happy new year Patrons!

It has been quite some time since I've updated the Patreon page and I would like to keep you all up to date with some changes I've decided to make as we enter into the new year. There are three major changes that I would like to share with you all today, concerning new, modified and revised patron bonuses for your helpful support to the channel.  And I'd also like to share some information about the channel that might interest you!

The first change I'd like to cover is that the Ending Screen / Patreon Credits at the end of every video is entirely redesigned! I've spent a bit of time improving the quality of the editing, and I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I've attached the new credits (including an updated list of all of the current Patrons) below if you'd like to check it out - you can also check it out in the next video upload tomorrow! It will be available as an attachment, downloadable (or viewable? not sure about this) in this post. 

The second change is that the channel's discord server is nearing completion, and I fully expect it to be up and ready by the end of February! As channel Patrons you will all receive unique Patron roles in this server to reward you for your ongoing support to the channel. I'm still figuring out how to moderate the server, as it will be open to the public, so if any of you have ideas on how to approach this please let me know.  A lack of moderation could easily derail the entire project, though, as public forums have a tendency to devolve, so I need to figure out the logistics of this.  I would like it to be an open place for discussion on the channel, with the ability to communicate amongst the community and between myself - I'll update Patreon and the community page of the channel once it is open so stay tuned! 

The third change, after much thought, is that I've decided to scrap the monthly Patreon Poll. The unfortunate truth is that I was consistently unable to deliver this content each month, and I've decided to cancel this feature in favor of more random polls that will be available to everyone on the channel's community page.  It was unfair of me to offer this as a bonus to the channel's most supportive members - and consistently miss the deadline each month. That being said, the last voted video for the poll - the EU4 military composition guide - will feature on the channel after the next few batches of scheduled videos. I apologize greatly for this change, and it is my hope that I can bring it back once I'm back in a schedule and able to accomodate this.  Until then I've modified the bonuses to each Patron tier to reflect this change. I again apologize for this inconvenience and hope to make it right by you and the larger community as a whole. 

And speaking of schedules, I am currently undergoing a very large life event that is having me move around quite often, and it has kept me away from the channel and from producing content.  It's been a very busy month for me with work, school and travel taking up almost all of my free time.   I am happy to say that in a week's time I will be back at my home - in France - and will be able to produce content regularly for you once again.  I fully intend to maintain more transparency in the scheduling of my videos, and I apologize again for keeping you in the dark. 

On a positive note, I'd like to thank you all so much for your continued support as we enter into the new year and an entirely new chapter in the channel's history. We just reached 40,000 subscribers - a milestone I never thought possible to achieve - and I am incredibly grateful to have such an amazing community behind this monumentous growth.  We broke in the end of 2018 with only 10,000 subscribers and we now passed more than 4x as many at the end of 2019.  At this point I think 100,000 subscribers is an entirely achievable goal to reach by the end of 2020 and I can't wait to see the evolution of the channel as we move forward!
