new cover from me! I recently started watching this show because people would not shut up about how good it was - i have to admit, it is REALLY DAMN HYPE a lot of the time, thanks in part to this here little diddy that the show creators associate with most intense fight scenes
I've gotta be super honest, and I feel like this is the only place I can kinda sorta talk about this on social media - I do not like this song. I get why it's written the way it is, it's effective in the context of the show, but god damn the track by itself is so boring and obnoxiously repetitive.
It feels like a collection of "epic sounding" ideas all mashed together into one big stupid thing - it BUILDS AND BUILDS AND BUILDS AND RIFFS AND RIFFS AND RIFFS and then there's a drum fill and it BUILDS AND BUILDS AND BUILDS AND RIFFS AND RIFFS AND RIFFS and then theres another little drum fill and it BUILDS AND- you get the idea. It takes no chances and tries nothing interesting, it's like playing all the white keys on a piano. BAH FRICKEN HUMBUG this song has NO RIGHT being compared to a memorable and interesting theme like guiles theme DAG GUMMIT
But I digress... It's still a hype track. It works well for action sequences. I'm just salty about it is all - especially since it's not necessarily an easy thing to play on guitar either.
