New desktop site design!

Hey everyone,

I’m excited to share that I’ve updated the design of Playphrase.me for the desktop version! This has been a long time coming—I’ve been putting it off for ages, but it’s finally done. At first glance, you might not notice much difference, but I’ve completely overhauled the code structure for the desktop site, which means I can finally start adding new features.

About a year ago, I did the same for the mobile version, rebuilding it from the ground up, which greatly improved the service on mobile devices. During this redesign, I also found a lot of bugs (including on the mobile version), so if there was anything that used to bug you, there’s a good chance I’ve fixed it!

To be honest, I was a bit afraid to touch the old code and add new features—for example, adding new search tools was really tough with the old codebase and design. But now, as you might notice, there’s a new language select dropdown with a lot of empty space. That’s where I’ll be adding new menus for filtering by actors, movies, genres, and more, just like I promised. I know many of you are eagerly waiting for these updates!

All in all, I think I’ve earned a well-deserved break this Sunday after all the hard work. Thank you so much for your support!
