The sheer level of hardware on these makes for an insane amount of drawing labor. But growing up on 80s-90s anime, how could I say no? Otomo did it, so, let's go.
Plus the Troika crew are going to need every advantage they can muster for what's coming.
An initial stage of the coloration I used intense chromatic tones for the color flats, and really liked the vibe it conveyed.

We brought the colors back into the proper palette in later stages, but I decided to try and recapture that original energy when we went into the lighting stage.
And voila:

Panels like these don't really 'move' the plot forward the way a series of quick talking-heads might. But adding heft and drama to the pacing is a crucial part of what makes Dreamkeepers, Dreamkeepers. And despite the frightful complexity of hand-drawing every gun and cartridge and armor panel on the Killgears, I am pleased that Volume 6 production has accelerated in 2026. Pages are coming together very well.
Going forward we'll have to be strategic about which panels we share in #daveshares and here, to avoid spoilers.
Because things are about to happen.

Next update Saturday will be either progress in the TTRPG or a fresh finished Prelude comic.
Thanks everyone for keepin' our pencils moving! YOU are the real heroes of the story.
