2024-01-13 01:43:22 +0000 UTCThese two episodes work well back to back like this. In terms of establishing the "rules" we find out that the Doctor is willing to kick a companion off the Tardis. The Doctor didn't really trust Adam to begin with, because was working for a creep like Mr Van Staaten. Then he goes and uses time travel for personal gain. But, the very next episode we see Rose trying to use time travel for personal gain. The Doctor is really angry, but he ultimately forgives her. I think he realizes that in her mind, saving her dad was inconsequential to the greater universe, AND of course she has proven herself trustworthy already. I wonder if this had happened at the start of the series, would Rose have been dropped off home like Adam was?
