I think in the book Hawk was in his early 30βs and Tim was in his mid 20βs. Which would put Hawk in his mid to late 60βs and Tim in his late 50βs to early 60βs in 1986. The book doesnβt cover the 1960-1980βs, it skips to 1991 at the end. Tim and Hawk cut ties at the end of the 50βs and never speak again. The show changed that, which I love!
