Happy Anniversary, Founder's Game!

Kertoir: Today, November 17th 2025 marks the one-year anniversary of the launch of The Founder's Game Chapter 1! Crazy, isn't it?

It's hard to put to words exactly how I feel when I think about The Founder's Game, but pride is an undeniable one. This project was such a labour of love for me, and through the rockiness and unpredictability that came with it, I'm so grateful that it was delivered to you guys exactly the way it is (and seemed to resonate with you, too!) I really can't believe it's been a just a year since we started that adventure, honestly, it feels like it's been two.

The Founder's Game was so special to me for so many reasons, but mainly because it was Ranboo & I's first opportunity to really collaborate on the story and delivery of a generation from scratch, as we continue to do now. I was added to the team so late into Generation 1 that I just barely got a peek at the process near the end, so this really was my first project. Working with Ran on the story of this game, through brainstorming, rewriting, late night arguments over the smallest details, and goofy sketches in the margins of notes are some of my most cherished memories working on Generation Loss as a whole.

I'm so grateful to have contributed all that I did for this project, both visually and textually, and be truly proud when looking back on it. So much thought went into every little detail of the game, and this Patreon has been such an amazing opportunity for me to elaborate and walk you through the decisions of the project and how we concluded to them. A breakdown that I have been particularly excited to share with you all is the process behind creating the cipher featured on the post that started the rollout of the game, which I am so excited to say will be out for our paid subscribers this week! Please keep an eye out for that :).

This project would not at all be as complete as it is without our wonderful Founder's Game team; Eduardo, Lou-Ellen, Cat, Jake & Kyle. These incredibly skilful artists and developers brought this project to its full potential, and we will be eternally grateful for their dedication and artistry they brought to the game.

I look forward to getting to build upon the ideas and concepts we introduced in the Founders Game. This piece of the puzzle is so important in the bigger picture of the series, and I'm so excited to watch you guys unravel that. Thank you so much for a year of support and love for The Founder's Game; that excitement truly fuels my passion to continue working on future generations.

The Founder’s game is officially one year old today!

This project was very important for a LOT of reasons which i’d like to talk about with you all! I remember first having the idea of a “choose your own adventure” style game that had a collective vote for some important decisions! I fell in love with the concept and we quickly got to work on what exactly that would look like.

Looking back on it a year from now I definitely learned a lot both as a writer but also in regards to how these kinds of projects should go. It was definitely rocky at times but I couldn’t be more proud of the end product and I couldn’t be more thankful for the team behind it!

The story behind TFG has to be one of my favorites out of the few we have shown you! It introduced a lot of key concepts and characters which I am very excited to expand upon when we return to Generation 0! It has a lot more than initially meets the eye and I am very excited for everything to come together!

I think that the Founder’s game would not be what it is without the incredible work that Kertoir did with writing and helping manage the game as a whole! I absolutely could not have done it without them. I am so excited to show you all what we are able to do in the future with this game now under our belts and the important things I learned with the direction that I want Generation Loss to go!
