Everstone Daycare v0.9b - January Demo pt.2!

Howdy everyone!

As promised, here’s the second part of the version 0.9 demo (aka 0.9b), now including the full story content that was intended to be part of last month’s demo. It includes all the updates to the Retraining Program Pokemon’s sprites and the continuation of the story after your morning change with Ursaring!

Unfortunately, I’ve had to delay moving all the optional content to Day 2 and onwards as promised. It turned out to be a much more complicated task than expected (there are a lot of moving parts I need to navigate through and rearrange at this point). I don’t believe I would have been able to implement it in a way I’d be satisfied with without majorly delaying the demo.

So, for the sake of not making everyone wait too long to see the next part of the story, I will be postponing this until a future demo. Most likely, I’ll try to work it into this month’s demo instead. For now, you’ll still be able to access them the same way you have been able to so far.

This might be the first story-related demo with no new CGs. Spooky’s time was spent mostly on fixing up the old sprites to make them to the quality he’s happy with for now, and boy do they look nice in my opinion! That does mean you’ll all have to use your imaginations more with the next scenes. I plan to revisit these in the future, and hopefully give them a CG to help bring them to life.

Here’s a list of the new additions to this demo:

• Sprite updates across all scenes (and a few other minor adjustments) - I’ve finally managed to go through every story scene and update everyone to their new sprites. I’ve also adjusted the size of everyone’s sprites, as how large they were before made the screen very cramped, especially when the game UI is also present. It might do some wonky things with some of the scenes and blocking, but I’ve tried my best to mitigate anything that would feel off.

Still! I would love for any feedback on this change, or any scenes where you think I should adjust the positioning and sizes.

• Continuation of the story of Day 2 (Meeting and recruiting Grovyle) - These are the story scenes that follow you getting changed by Nurse Ursaring and returned to the Bedtime Room. On your quest to find a way out of the daycare, you meet a new potential accomplice, but only if you help him out with his bully problem first! To access this part of the story, just continue on from the change scene after waking up in the morning. It should go straight into this next scene automatically!

Not the spiciest update, I must admit. I’d love to be all gas when it comes to putting in “stimulating ABDL content”, but there are parts that have to be more character focused if me, Spooky, and Tennet will be able to tell the story we want to tell. More of the prior type of content is to come though! I just hope you all enjoy my general storytelling haha.

I especially would like to know if people enjoy the adjustments to the size of the sprites I did across all the scenes. As cramped as they were before, I’m happy to change them back if they liked it better that way.

Install Instructions

Due to the increasing size of the project, the file will now be hosted on my itch.io page for the game [password: Zangoose605]

Please extract the game folder to your directory of choice, and then run the 'Everstone Daycare.exe' file within to play the  game. Enjoy!

Please note for the Mac version that this is not a signed app, so you may encounter an error  when first trying to open this program. Please follow the instructions  on this support page to work around this.

Disclaimer

Any saves carried over from previous demos might cause issues when playing through them in the current demo. In the event that any flags, variables, and other data were changed in a scene after you had completed it already in your current save file, you might not be able to access the new content. Creating a new game file is advised.

Known Issues

• [Mac version] Whenever you open up the game or return to the title screen, several error windows pop up. These shouldn't prevent you from playing the game as normal. This is caused by the project referencing several tags/variables present on the newer version of the program that aren't properly converted back when using an older version to export the Mac release. I will look into this further.
