I regret having to make this post, but I've decided that I'll need to delay the release of the next demo for a few days, releasing during the month of March. The main reason for this is a concern over the quality of the demo itself, and well as for the sake of my own health.
I've spent most of this month planning, writing, and reviewing the story that would make up the intro of the game. After all the corrections, I've come to a grand total of 12,337 words, more than double the word count I had in previous progress report a few days ago. It's definitely something I'm not used to doing, which contributed heavily to how long it took me to get it all made.
In the short amount of time I had left in the month after finishing the story, it was a mad dash to try to program everything together and deciding which features I'll have to forego temporarily for the sake of being able to release it by the end of the month.
However, as I was making the demo, I came to the realization that what I was making if I were to continue rushing it like I had been would end up bare, sloppy, and generally wouldn't be up to the standard of quality I want to make for people. It also wouldn't have left the kind of first impression to the story that I'd want if I were to released it in such a rough state.
I had also been staying up for the past few days attempting to finish and clean up the story, and have continued to do so as I've been making the demo, which has unsurprisingly ended up being very bad for my health. Being this exhausted would've also been detrimental to the quality of the demo.
I willl release the remainder of the artwork and music made for the next demo for my $10 Patrons ASAP. I had been too preoccupied with finishing the demo in time that I hadn't been able to post them.
Again, I apologize for waiting this long to come to this decision as I'm sure many of you had been waiting for the demo to release this month. This wasn't a decision I made lightly. Above all else, I want to make sure what I make and release is worth everyone's support.
As a teaser for the demo itself, I've posted a few screenshots from scenes in the demo that I'm sure people would enjoy.
