Everstone Daycare - Progress Report (Feb. 8, 2022)

Howdy everyone! It's been a pretty slow week as we've been occupied with other commitments, but I've still been hard at work doing my best to continue writing the story of for the game. Before all of that though, I'd like to thank all of you for supporting me thus far, especially now that I've completed my Patreon goal! I can now comfortably work on this project without having to take extra work just to stay afloat, and I can focus all of my effort on developing the game. This is a dream come true, and definitely the change of scenery I was hoping to get when I took the risk of not taking commissions and instead creating my first game and opening this Patreon. I hope to meet everyone expectations!

Back to news regarding the game, as I've previously stated, it's been a slow week so there's not a whole lot I can show at the moment. This week was mostly spend with me outlining the parts of the story I am planning to write, as well as discussing with Tennet and Spooky about different ideas and directions we want to take the game in. 

The biggest development I can show everyone is that we have decided on 3 new male Nurse characters that will appear in the game, tailored more towards my and Tennet's tastes: 

Nurse Buizel, who is inexperienced with his new job, but is good-natured and eager to please.

Nurse Ursaring, who is the largest nurse in the daycare and isn't afraid to get physical with Pokemon with whom a stern voice and a threat of punishment aren't enough to get the point across.

and Nurse Zangoose, a stern-faced nurse with a bad reputation and a worse temper. Rumour has it that he has a rivalry with Nurse Ursaring, who sometimes bullies him.

They will be present alongside the other nurse characters you may already be familiar with so far, so no fear about that! Nurse Charmeleon and Mew will still be major players in the experience, but we wanted to add more characters that I can easily write for as well. Please note that this art is also still a placeholder (done by myself) and will likely be redone by Spooky in the future to maintain a consistent artstyle (depending on everyone's opinions of course.) I'd love to know what you all think so far.

For now, I'll continue working on the story as well as make some adjustments to the UI later on that I will present in a future progress report. As our schedules clear up, we should be able to start working on demos and background art again.
